Before going to universal Auto/Tire, please read all the bad reviews first. I wish I would have gone elsewhere.
I went to Universal Auto to have my front brake replaced. Paid $500.00 for front brakes. My car started making noise when I put on the brakes I called Universal Auto and was told it was just paper on the brakes and it would wear off. After a while I took my car back to have it checked out. Instead of them checking the front brakes I was told it was my back brakes. They took me in the back to show me the car, but the tirer were still on my car, so how could they say it was the back brakes!!! So they changed the back brakes which was another $500.00. Then I was told the car is still making the noise, which then they checked the front brakes and sanded them down saying it should be OK now. Well after paying $1000.00 for brakes I was giving my car back and it wasn't even fixed still making the noise. Inconvenience again I had to take my car back for the front brakes to be replaced. I spoke with Kevin and he agreed that I did not need back brakes and still had some time left on the back brakes. He even admitted that the noise was coming only from the front. He offered me 2 free oil changes, but I told him since I didn't drive that much I didn't need the oil changes. I also told him I didn't feel I should have to pay for other people's mistakes. I asked for half of my money back on the back brakes , and for him to think about it. After 4 days of not hearing from him I called him and I was told he owed me nothing and he doesn't have to even offer the oil changes. What a attitude changes he had. He would not even talk to me then and said goodbye have a good day, and hung up. I don't mind paying for what is correct, but not others mistakes . I only had 26,000 miles on my back brakes.
It's not CHARITY Kevin, it's called what is correct for the customer and building a good reputation for your business. Im very much able to pay for what is correct.

I just hope other people dont have the misfortune as I had.
All together I spent
6 hours waiting for brakes with no apologies. Please think twice before getting caught in a mess.

While traveling from GA to NY to take my daughter to school, our car had issues so we stopped by Universal Auto to have them inspect it. From the moment we stepped in the door the staff was very professional and friendly and the Service Techs were knowledgeable, professional and extremely helpful. They were able to fix our car and send us on our way within an hour. I highly recommend this shop for your car needs. They are awesome!

If the owner, Kevin, wanted to be viewed as reputable, he should explain that the extra issues they try to upsell you on pertain to the problem you’re currently coming in for instead of doing the classic shady auto mechanic sales pitch. He also shouldn’t call customers cheap when he knows they’re in financial trouble and doesn’t have the knowledge or money to fix it themselves. Would not recommend the service. The owner doesn’t treat people right.
UPDATED to include Kevin’s name. He doesn’t treat people right, don’t play his games. It’s a waste of your energy. He’s not reputable, he can’t take accountability of his mistakes, and won’t stand behind his work. He is a liar. Check the other one star reviews for the pattern in his actions.

SECOND UPDATE: as much as Kevin claims to be transparent when you ask him for the videos he claims he has, he won’t give them to you and instead will make slanderous comments as well as legal threats seemingly trying to intimidate instead.

I brought my car here for some significant rear end repairs. Essentially the entire back end needed to get rebuilt; I had taken it to multiple shops before bringing it here and had no luck getting help. Either shops were incapable of fixing it or just would ignore me entirely. Kevin the owner and his crew were very understanding from the beginning about what I needed done. They kept me in the loop all along the way of getting all the parts ordered and everything situated. We even had a few snags getting a good subframe and they went above and beyond making it right for me and getting me my car back as soon as they could. Anthony and Carol were also a pleasure to work with in particular. All in all great experience and I’m a lifetime customer for sure. These guys are awesome!

The worst auto shop I have ever seen. My brake line broke yesterday, but only on the rear driver side, when they quoted my car they told me the back line had to be replaced, then they said the front too, the said all four, my drum and rotors. They tried to charge me $2000, $350 the parts and $1500 in labor. They lied to me about problems my car did not have, jerked me all over, and then tried to charge me $60 for the inspection and even lied about that. They charged me ten more dollars than they initially said they would. One minute they tell me car is in fantastic condition and completely clean of rust and dirt, then they turn around and tell me my car is a rust bucket. I know that is a lie, I saw my car on the lift, the car is so clean it could be mistaken for brand new. I will never go back and I hope the better business bureau handles them.

These guys are the best! They really took the time to check over every facet of my car, and even worked hard with my warranty company to get items covered so that I didn't have to pay for them. It was a wonderful experience, and I will be going back again!
