“Frowine’s is a wonderful small-town hardware store with more than hardware. Julie Frowine, Jim’s daughter, has great taste in home decorations with wonderful things from candles to rocking chairs. I have lots of pretties from Frowine’s. I love to tell people that I bought my dressy jacket at my local hardware store.”

“We are new to the area looking for a local Building Supply Store. We had a great experience with Portsmouth Building Supply. Their staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help find the right materials for a project. The store offers a good selection of quality building supplies, and if they don't have something in stock, they're helpful in finding a solution. I appreciate supporting a family-owned local business that has served the community for many years. Their customer service and expertise make them a valuable resource for both contractors and do-it-yourself homeowners. I would definitely recommend Portsmouth Building Supply to anyone looking for dependable service and quality products.”

“The man in charge of the U-Haul side of Ace gave my rental to another woman and charged my card for her rental. Although, he did do a "reversal" and my card was credited for the amount. It was the principle that had me frustrated. Aside from prices being somewhat high, they do have a good product selection and friendly customer service.Update: Today my wife and I visited to find an adapter for our washer. Stan was the gentleman who helped me find what I needed and he was extremely helpful. Stan went above and beyond and ordered the part I needed. Stan even offered to deliver me the part because I live locally. I certainly enjoy shopping at Vandervort Ace Hardware!”

“Last year, I purchased a Ventrac along with several attachments. They carefully walked me through the options to ensure I chose only what I needed for my property. And NO hard sale to buy anything more. Since then, overall, I have been very pleased with their customer service. They have been attentive to my needs, and when an issue has arisen, they addressed it promptly, professionally, and more than satisfactorily. I am very appreciative of the their business! BTW, I love the Ventrac. Worth every penny! For certain applications (like mine), nothing else can even come close to doing what it can do, or as safely! Very well designed and built also.”

“Wish there were more stars! Highly recommend this plumbing company. Not only is their price very competitive, but they actually care about the homeowner. In this day and age that is very unusual! Cannot recommend them enough.”

“It's a lowes. If you're buying stuff and expect to get you're points shop in store. But other than that, they have everything you will need for all your home improvement needs. And the gardening center is always decent. It can be difficult to find staff to help you.”
