Fifth Third Bank & ATM is a personal banking center that many customers have used since their high school years, often chosen for its convenient ATM presence at locations like universities. The in-branch experience is consistently praised. Customers report that the bankers, such as long-time staff members, are kind, patient, knowledgeable, and respectful. They are described as sweet and diligent, working to explain things softly and bring peace of mind, helping clients chart a course toward greater financial stability. Customers feel welcomed and leave feeling better, noting the staff are the nicest people ever encountered at a bank, with helpful gestures like offering to switch accounts to avoid fees. However, significant criticisms focus on the phone support system. Much, if not all, phone-accessible assistance is outsourced, often to India. This leads to frustrations where specialists can be difficult to understand, unprofessional, or flat unhelpful at worst, requiring calls to be re-rolled for better help. A major issue involves automated collection calls for matters like credit card debt and overdraft. These subtly threatening calls from overseas are described as a struggle, causing frustration, dread, and a feeling of harassment, even reportedly continuing after a banker offered to file a cease and desist and removed a phone number from the system. This robs customers of sleep and feels devaluing. Despite these phone support and collection call problems, which some note are an industry standard common to most banks, many customers still strongly recommend Fifth Third. They appreciate the excellent care of their money and the exceptional in-person service, stating the bank has always been good to them and that the good outweighs the bad.
Thanks to 5/3 for taking excellent care of my money. The "bad" reviews are mostly issues that are all the same with most banks so no reasons to complain.

I just went to this bank for the first time and they were honestly the nicest people I've ever encountered at a bank. They offered to switch my account so I didn't have to pay a service fee. And the guy helping me told me happy early birthday and let me know that my license is about to expire. 12/10 y'all are the best.
