“I got quotes from many different vendors before selecting Countertop Surface Solutions. They have up front honest pricing and include all aspects of doing a kitchen remodel. Many vendors would not touch my fireplace as part of the project. Some other vendors did not include tile tear out, redoing plumbing, and fixing drywall. Why stress yourself out with finding multiple vendors when you can have Jerry and Ben do all that for you! I like they are a family business and their attention to detail is impeccable. Very happy with the end results and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a kitchen remodel.”

“In February 2025 I had two vanity tops installed by J& R granite.They had two beautiful Dolomite slabs at their site.They did an outstanding job on honing them and a very professional job-installing them.
I needed matching material after installing, which Jogly went above and beyond to get for me. “Updated review- Janet from Distinctive (Manager of sales I believe) was prompt to reach out to me after reading my review and was extremely pleasant to work with. She expressed her apologies for all we had dealt with, offered us compensation for our troubles, and even more than that- a reasonable solution… beautiful countertops in a prompt timeframe. Our countertops were installed today and the crew showed up when they said they’d be there and did a wonderful job. We are so glad we were able to get our original choice of countertop and we can’t wait to move into our house. Thank you Janet for making this possible! To say this place was a nightmare to deal with is an understatement. I will never, and won’t ever recommend anyone I know to use this business. Our project started with this company on June 13th, 2024. We picked out our countertops through our cabinet company they work closely with. We were very excited, we loved the countertops we picked out. Flash forward to 3 weeks before the expected move-in date of our new home. Distinctive surfaces comes out to template for our countertops on a Tuesday. The following Monday they call and say the countertops we picked out in June (mind you, it’s early September now) are back ordered now and stuck on a ship somewhere. They advise me to come to their store and pick out a similar product they HAVE AVAILABLE. I drive myself over an hour there, agree to the change and they “get it ordered.” This was a Friday. The following Monday. Now another week delayed, they call again, saying this product (that was just available) is ALSO delayed. Could be two weeks, could be two months. They aren’t sure how long it will be. Again, this is the ONLY thing keeping us from moving into our house. So to speed process up we are backed into corner to either change to different company which will likely delay us more time, or choose ANOTHER different product. So we choose another product. Third countertop. This time, it’s a $2,500 up charge for us. Originally almost $3,500, they agreed to cover a percent of the up-charge. However, they told us they had it in-stock, in Cleveland (3 hours from us) and could get it ASAP and install it, so despite all the horrible gut feelings I had to get the hell out of this situation we pulled the plug to do it and be done with it. Flash forward a week and a half, they send us spec sheet for the cut, tell us an install date (another week out totaling for a month from template date), and we receive a call saying this said product is, GUESS WHAT, also stuck in a boat somewhere and they don’t know when they will get it?! How did it get on a boat from Cleveland to Columbus? Did they ever have it? Who knows. Regardless we are currently on our way to Creative Countertops in Englewood where they have 7 slabs of our original pick countertop available and will be installing in 2 weeks! So glad we left this disastrous company and all they stand for. Do yourself a favor and do not give them your business. This place is a joke.”

“We got our kitchen cabinets from Sims Lohman as that was who our builder used 7 years ago. Our bathroom cabinets, granite peninsula, kitchen sink, and bathroom counters are also from them. The base molding in the kitchen needed touched up but the touch up kits that they had given us was dried out. I called and askedPage if we could purchase. She was so helpful. This color was discontinued but she found one left and said that we could just have it. Now that's great customer service.”

“Brace yourself--this place is huge!! They MUST have the largest selection of pots for plants, outdoor pillows, indoor pillows, ceramicware and rugs I have ever seen?! To be honest, I was a bit overwhelmed and was zigzagging the place out of any logical order and missed entire sections! Lots of unique stuff, too!! The checkout process was flawless and the cashier clearly believes in the rewards program bc she wasn't just repeating it, she nailed it!! I WILL be back!! Ample parking and nice carts, too!”

“Our experience with crate and barrel started with an issue. We had our registry set up and the plates and bowls we got were terrible. We thought we had $600 worth of junk, however when we came into the store our luck changed. We worked with Drew and he was SO helpful. He helped us with the return and literally took us around the store and helped us find the best they had. Drew is one of the very few people in today’s society that is willing to really help out and make it right. He just changed us from unhappy Crate and Barrel customers, to a lifelong customer.

This is how you do business. If it were up to me I would have Drew as the head of customer relations of the entire company and pay him an absurd amount of money. Having staff like him is how you retain customers.
