The low star reviews worried me but after banking with Ohio Savings Bank after a couple of years, I never saw an issue. The people here are very friendly and kind. Will recommend and I've banked with a lot of different banks.

Opened a checking account and the only place I was provided my account number was in the employees handwriting... SHE WROTE THE WRONG NUMBER DOWN. She also did sign me up for the online app, forget to add information to my account, didn’t give me starter checks, didn’t assist me with making an access code (or tell me how to do it)... the list goes on. Thankfully their online support (who I spent over 2 hours in the phone with for 2 days) were very helpful and pointed out all the errors (not the wrong number I figured that out in my own). I’m uncomfortable now with this account and don’t trust it.

While the local branch is just fine, their parent company, New York Community Bank, is not. They "upgraded" their computer system over the previous weekend and I am unable to log into my account. Called several times and, after sitting on hold for a significant amount of time, they disconnected me. Multiple times. Very frustrated.

I've never had an experience with a bank like I've had with Ohio Savings. It's been non stop harassment since I've opened an account here. Now they've really gone overboard by monitoring my account and questioning my purchases and buying habits. If you want this bank involved in every aspect of your personal life, then this is the bank for you. They're going to tell you where to shop, what to buy, how many purchases you can make in a day, and even what clothes to wear. I think it's best to do away with banks all together and just use prepaid cards from now on.
