They replaced the engine last year when it failed due to a recall issue for which repair parts were not yet available. When the parts became available, they ordered them, and this visit was to complete the recall service. Through the entire process, they've been friendly, efficient and communicated with us well.

I feel like taking this to a big corporate shop they would have just replaced my brakes anyway. I will most definitely be back for anything we need with this car. “This is my dad's business. Unfortunately, he is not well with his health 4thstage kidney cancer and acute onset of memory loss is progressing rapidly. My brother also named Ron should be the mechanic you do or discuss business with. My dad will still be there for good conversation. Also, there is another shop I think in Jackson County using my Dad's phone number for their Towing Service. I just wanted to note that Ron's Garage has never had and does NOT have a towing service or any partnering with one. You may have your car towed to the garage if you chose but we don't offer towing services. I am not sure who, or why someone is misleading people but for the consumers protection and my families business if you chose to search for towing don't Google it, call your insurance company and they should have their own or use frequently certain road side assistance numbers or tow companies but if they use Google and give you Ron's Garage please FLAG that and make them aware of it being false info and possibly fraudulent. Other options is to call the state highway patrol, a friend, or family member. Always keep hazard lights on when broke down, Don't leave site or walk alone if broke down especially if you're at a far distance from your designation or in rural area during closed business hours. Do not get close to a stranger offering help to you. Be smart, stay safe and vidulant. Keep a comfortable distance if alone when not much traffic is present. Always better to be prepared for the unknown especially for those of you who travel on old routes in the middle of no where. Try to wait in your vehicle til daylight hours if you fall under circumstance such as this. Thank you. Take Care.”

“What a wonderful place. JJ went above and beyond to help me. My son is in Nelsonville for collge and the car broke down I had no idea what to do. Found some great people (Rick's Tires)who referred J&P and they picked his car up and had it up and running in 2 days!! They didn't try to over price me being that I am 4 hrs away and couldn't get there and made sure the car would be safe and ready for my son to drive. I believe my very first car, Geraldine- a red civic, even met Randy, 20 some years ago... then many other automobiles since. So, I think the test of time speaks for its self in my case. He's always provided excellent master mechanic abilities and knowledge, as well as competitive and fair pricing. I'm sure there are other shops in athens with great people, however when ya start with the best why risk getting anything less!
