I came into town to help my mom move and KeyBank has been very unprofessional and has pushed the closing date back twice due to them being unprepared. If you must go through them, if you get Thomas Flory as your Loan Officer, request a change immediately cause your timetable will not be followed and he will tell you your time is not important. He has specifically stated "Well I'm sorry things just aren't going your way Michelle." in a very condensending tone. Would not recommend this location for home selling/purchasing.

I am a homeowner/realtor who recommend the $5,000 grant program to the buyer of my home with Loan Officer Thomas Flory. He has not communicated effectively a closing date or gave updates on a consistent basis. When I contacted him July 24th in regard to closing Aug 28th (which he agreed to be possible) he informed me he didn't promise that. I asked why he didn't update the buying agent and he informed me why would he if he didn't have an update to give. My response was that I had a home I was buying and had movers scheduled for a date he agreed to and there were other people being affected by this. I informed him I was getting charged to longer it was extended. I also had to get electric and other things tended to. He said he would get his supervisor involved to get it moving. Through the whole conversation he tried to put it on the buyer agent who he wasn't communicating with. Now move to Friday July 25th and I find out we can't close on Monday Aug 28th because the buyer has documents that need to be signed. But as long as they were signed Friday, we could close Tuesday. Now here we are on Aug 28th with a closing time schedule for 10 am Aug 29th and the buyer agent had reached out to the lender for approval EARLY in the morning. Key Bank DID NOT inform anyone till 5 pm TODAY that they are not ready STILL to close at 10 am. But MIGHT be ready at 2 pm which pushes my closing date on the same day for my new home to possible 4. I have movers scheduled for the SECOND time for tomorrow at noon. EVERYBODY is ready but KEY BANK LENDER. On Friday when I spoke to Thomas, he had nerve to say "I am sorry things can't go your way" all because I needed a timeframe so I could schedule things. The buyer for my house is moving in and I need time to move out. This lender has been very unprofessional, and I will not recommend them to another realtor to use for home loans. I used USA mortgage for my home loan for my other house and it was smooth. They had EVERYTHING together in 3 weeks and been ready to close. This lender is playing with people's lives and to NOT communicate effectively is horrible. EVERYBODY I know who has bought, sold or been involved in real estate said they haven't worked with a lender who didn't have a closing date and who didn't communicate what was going on so the buyer and seller could get things tended to. KeyBank in Vandalia and Thomas Flory are very unprofessional with how they have handled this and if there were just effective communication things could of went so much smoother. NOW we are STILL waiting for a closing date with hopes it is tomorrow at 2 pm. DO NOT USE THIS BANK FOR A HOME LOAN. Horrible experience and I am the seller.

This bank has done very little to make things right. I was a tornado victim who lost his house and everything I owned. After I built my house they decided to charge me for the year my house did not exist. So my Mortage went up 600 a month for a year straight. The bank blamed the auditor and the auditor is blaming the bank. I have been trying to figure this for over a year now. They are just shrugging it off and even ignoring my calls/emails. I have provide proof to them many times. I provided an explanation pictures, dates and proof. The auditor information is public and my Mortage account says they are not sending the city the amount they are collecting. I was suppose to be refunded the extra money I paid but they only sent 27 dollars I had to spend 7200 in property taxes to live in northridge and all I was asking was the additional year they decided to charge me to be refunded. Which adds up to 3400 It’s been an awful life changing experience and I am resort to doing this so that I can actually get these guys to do there job. It has been over a month. Heather gave me a call from the complaint office took my info down. But I have been ignored. I’ve called in about 5 times and I would be promised a call back but no receive one. Key bank is putting zero effort on making this right. That’s an extra 7200 they charged me for property taxes. I live in northridge by the way most people pay a little over 1000 to live here. This is not ok.

Oof. I can't get anyone to help my situation that I never asked for. They reached out to me, refunded me a little money then never fixed the problem. Now here we are again. Two weeks later with the same problem. I've been with key for 3plus years and it's never been this out of wack. I'm done here ✌?

1 star goes hand in hand with their customer care and service. I quit banking with them years ago, however my father still does for his company. His company has had an account there since the early 1970s and you'd think they'd do what they could to do right by his company but they seem none too interested. I believe Key Bank should be investigated for shady practices and banking methods. If you want a bank that charges you astronomical fees every time you turn around Key is the place to suit your wants and needs. However for most people they'll cause nothing but headaches. There are too many other banking options in Vandalia and beyond that serve customers far better.
