I cannot warn anyone enough to stay away from HS. First, you are paying A LOT more for things that you can often get from other companies. You are paying a premium for their "lifetime guarantee", which is not worth the paper it is written on. I have had two, or maybe three, instances now where they screwed me over on their bogus guarantee. They will use any excuse to get out of honoring it, so BE WARNED. If you doubt me, look at their reviews on Google. 3.8 on Google itself, but 1.5 on sitejabber, and 1.6 on Trustpilot (with 80% being 1-star reviews).

BEWARE! Use Amazon instead. THEY ARE TOTAL CROOKS! Ordered the World's Best Tabletop Prelit Fraser Fir. Item: 56440 WHI for a gift. The retail price was $84.96 on November 6, 2023. That evening, I cancelled the order, spoke to a rep. They shipped it anyway! I complained. No problem they claimed, just refuse the package or take it to UPS to return for a refund. That's what I did. My checking account indicates that they charged me $110 keeping $18.60 for themselves. Now they are refusing to refund the total amount. Not acceptable! I will continue to complain until this is resolved. The package was never opened, although I did reinforce the tape that was coming off the package. Date of experience: November 06, 2023

Buy one item and you are pounded with emails. Return an item and it takes 21 days to process it. You are overcharged for shipping, and the reward system is so complex you are subscribed to something that costs you 14.95 a month and you may not realize it. You pay to get rewarded. What a racket. The radio was cheap plastic and sounded tinny. Was so disappointed. Never want to buy, hear, get an email, again. Customer service was a junior high level of competence, not trained well.

I have been a good customer over the years,bought slot of high priced items, until I needed to use the life time guarentee. I called to replace a 100? Sprinkler, lifetime guarentee RIGHT. ONLY IF I PAY AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF 70$. I even spoke with supervisor, no caring there. And his supervisor not available. So much for quality product guarentee. Zero would be my rating if available for Guarentee. Plus no concern on customer services. Just policyRick

I ordered an item which was never shipped to me. When I contacted customer service, I was informed that the item is on backorder until mid-June. The order was placed in mid-April, but Hammacher Schlemmer did not have the professionalism to notify me of any delay. I am very disappointed in this company.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This company is the absolute worst and a nightmare to deal with. They sent a $1500 arcade game damaged and just left it on our sidewalk out front of our house. First and last time I ever order from this company. We ordered two arcade games and they were both shipped separately and both arrived damaged - clearly this is how they operate.

We purchased a ride on train for my toddler for Christmas. The box arrived sealed without assembly parts. I contacted customer service and they responded that they didn’t have any parts so we could please return the train. Try explaining to a toddler that you need to return his Christmas gift from Santa. Seriously. Then the email from HS thanked me so much for allowing them to “make this right” when in fact they have done nothing to in fact make this right in anyway. They also refused to publish my review of the train on their website because it was “about service” when in fact it was about the product not being usable because it didn’t come with parts. Very shady practice to publish reviews on your website that are vetted so only the positive reviews are published. We will never order from HS again as they have made clear they do not care about their customers.

I wish I had read these reviews before I ordered an expensive bathrobe for my wife for Christmas:* Order 3 weeks before Christmas. Their site says they ship within 24 business hours.* A week later, the item had not shipped. I called and spoke to a customer service rep. He looked into the order, couldn't provide any information, and said that he had no way to contact their processing and shipping.* I had him cancel the order and ordered from a different company.* 10 days later I got an email that the order had shipped.* I emailed their customer service and they issued an RMA, but said that they would charge me a "processing fee". I protested and they said sorry, that was their policy. I responded that for that $10.95 fee (it's the principle) I would post what happened on every social media site, every day, for 30 days. At which point they relented and said there would be no charge.I will never place another order with this company. Who needs this kind of hassle during the holidays?

Well I have to say worst online experience I have ever had. Ordered a Artificial Tree ($900). HS shipped me 1 box (half a tree) should have been 2 boxes. I contacted their customer service 5 times over the next 2 weeks to inquire about why the whole tree was not shipped. Each time I was told it would be shipped within 24 to 48 hours, needless to say it was Not.. Ended up disputing the payment with my credit card company , which was taken out at the time of ordering . I was eventually able to receive a return label from HS to return the 1 box, I told them I wanted a tree for this Christmas. Was able to finally receive the refund on the tree from my bank. I ordered another tree from another company and received it within 3 days , shipping was free also. Hammacher Schlemmer by the way charges for shipping .

Last year I ordered a backrest for my daughter's Christmas present. I got an email it was in back order until February. I kept calling after February into March, June, September. Still on back order? Never got it. This year, I preferred 3 things; I need to ship them all back. The Gingerbread Man maker never said it was a waffle iron in the catalog, and it was super tiny, even for a waffle. I expected to make a decent sized cookie. The table runner had lights that were so bright they'd blind the diners. Finally, the Christmas tree spectacle ($229) came without the poles or stand. Several times I wanted to order something but when I called after getting the catalog a day before, they said they were all sold out. I get a new catalog every few days it seems, but I am going to discontinue them!
