They're fine. Been going over 15 years. Just very busy and seem overworked.

Extremely disappointed. Made an appointment to put down our 11 year old German Shepard. Had put down 2 other dogs over the years. Whether it was inexperience or incompetence it was the worst experience I have ever had. What I thought would have been a simple experience turned into a nightmare. For 40 minutes I watched as they tried to find a vein to administer the solution. I couldn't watch any longer. I left crying and my dog was still breathing. Damn them.

Both of my dogs go here. My older I’ve been taking to this location since she was about a year old, and this year she’ll be 10. Everyone here is awesome, from the receptionists to the vet techs to the vets. They’re so nice and caring and helpful! The people really make it a great experience.Just a note for Banfield in general- since I’ve mostly ever gone just for drop-off check-ups, I feel a slight disconnect with the vets, just because I don’t see them every time. I’d also like to see the back area where they take the pups, just out of curiosity. That’s another area where I feel a little bit of a disconnect, but I do understand that this system allows them to make more appointments per day which is very good for us! Photo of my younger puppy at his very first visit!

Great place to take your furry friends! Awesome doctors and a wellness plan with lots of options to help you alleviate the big vet bill if your pet needs a procedure done. Just a simple monthly payment and most annual shots & medical expenses are covered. The locations are convenient too. Inside the PetSmart store!!

They seem to be taking good care of my puppy so far. I don't get to see the room they take him to once the provider is ready for him, but he seems to come back just as excited and happy as before the appt. I wish there was a window where we could observe if we wanted to. Staff is friendly and they give him treats for being a good (busy) boy. Wait time is reasonable and I appreciate the follow up calls to check on him after his appts.

If I could give 0 stars I would.Had been taking my dog (8 year old spayed female) here since she was a puppy, typically just needing routine check ups. Well about a month ago I took her in because her appetite and energy both seemed low. I expressed concern for this both over the phone when I made the appointment and to the vet assistant in person when checking her in. They basically did a normal exam and found an ear infection to which they prescribed an ear medication and then also recommended an over the counter joint supplement. When I asked if they ran blood or determined why her energy and appetite changed the vet advised that it was probably the ear infection bothering her and the meds will help and she’ll probably feel better. We were following the recommendations and treating the ear infection but her appetite didnt get better. So after two weeks (per the vet’s recommendation) I called back to make another appointment. When I called I had a strange conversation when trying to explain I thought something serious is going on and my dog needed blood work. The receptionist was advising me on what was covered under my plan (which I did not ask her to do) and basically said “you don’t have blood work covered on your plan so it’s up to you”. I was looking for medical advice for my dog and they suggested a teeth cleaning, which again I did not ask for).So I made another appointment weeks out because that’s all they had. Then last week (one week after this last call) my dog wouldn’t eat scrambled eggs and I knew she was sick. I got her into a new vet in Chesterland where they immediately matched my concern and ran an X-ray. My girl had a large tumor on her spleen and the cancer had metastasized all over her body. We had to make the difficult decision to put her to sleep the next day. The vet here in Chesterland showed more empathy and personal care than I’ve ever experienced at Banfield. I then called banfield after everything to cancel her wellness plan/future appointments and advise she had passed. I also wanted to tell them they need to do better. The new girl on the phone seemed sympathetic but that was about it. Well today I get a call asking if I can confirm my appointment for tomorrow, so clearly they did not cancel when I called last week. To make it better the girl on the phone did not even acknowledge me when I said my dog passed away. She maintained an upbeat customer voice, advised she’d cancel it and told me to have a nice day. I understand that there was no curing my girls cancer, and knowing a few weeks earlier wouldn’t have changed the outcome. But this whole experience has left me feeling unheard and angry. They should have matched my concerns when I brought her in and when I called again after. And when someone calls to let you know a pet has passed, you should cancel all future appointments so they’re not forced to have this conversation again. I will never bring another pet here.
