Today’s work order prompted this review because they not only showed up within an hour, but also fixed the issue and changed a lightbulb for me within that same hour.The complex always looks clean and welcoming, they take care of the snow and ice speedily whenever needed, a great first place to live in Columbus for me and my partner and our cats!”
“Living here at Slate Hill these past 5 months has been fantastic!!!! I love it here!!!! Abbey, Zay, Nick and the maintenance staff have been wonderful!!! Any requests asked to fix anything or be replaced has been done promptly and professionally!!!! My apartment with all its amenities and garage are fabulous!!!!
The newsletters and the pool being repaired and sharing other pool location until fixed, awesome: beautiful clubhouse with free access, fantastic Starbucks coffee machine and amenities, pool party with fabulous prizes!!!!, food trucks, free: herb garden package, school supplies, fun licence plate game and prizes, friendly library house, special clippers tickets were all wonderful!!!
Slate Hill is 2 minutes from my work place and so convenient to all the shopping, restaurants, gas stations and High Banks park nearby!!!! I will be staying a long time at Slate Hill!!!!

“This is a one of a kind building. The architecture is beautiful, Ohio’s landscape is mostly postmodern architecture but this building is just stunning. Knowing that is from 1924 and is this well conserved is remarkable. If you’re visiting Ohio like I was, this should be one of your stops: appreciate the views, the decoration, the amount of detail in doors, ceilings, lighting, for me the art-deco/baroque/whimsical architecture was just fantastic. Also the crew are friendly and welcoming so for me it was a 10/10.”

“The tour was incredible and I am excited to get my kids into a single and a 2 bedroom apartment for June 2025 hopefully. I loved seeing the Arlington and Bexley model apartments. It was so nice to actually see the layout of the apartments that my adult kids are interested in renting. The closets are huge and the apartments are super clean, bright, and cozy. The lobby and the clubhouse were decorated for Christmas which were absolutely beautiful. Our guide was very pleasant and informative. As a parent- I am thrilled to hear that the parking garage is secure, there is security staff until 4 in the morning, and that maintenance is onsite. The Gym and pool are in the same building which is so convenient. Overall, the tour was an incredible experience. I am glad we were referred by a friend who lives there.”
“We have been at Hawthorne Commons for a year now and feel very fortunate for the opportunity that came about which allowed us to move into the community. We built our house and lived there for twenty years, but upkeep is always a player with ownership, and we felt it was time to sell and find somewhere that provided upkeep for its residents. We didn’t come from an area that offered 55+ communities, so this was all new to us. When we initially met Paige and looked at a model unit, we immediately knew this was the scenario we were seeking. Dublin offers about anything you’re looking for and we are extremely happy with the health care that is offered in the area. We are also happy in finding a church which has welcomed us and we already have made many friends there. We are so much more involved socially then ever before and the staff and the friendly residents at Hawthorne Commons have made that possible.”

“I’ve lived here for 18 months. I really have no complaints. All public hallways and common areas are always kept very clean. Every maintenance request i have submitted has been responded to with Someone in my apartment within a day or so, even when it’s something small like the microwave light being out. The issues with garage safety and prices have all been well responded to by maintenance, they both lowered the parking prices and installed a new gate and security to address the break ins. I’ve truly loved living here and have recommended several of my friends to also live here”

“Cornell always does an excellent job maintaining the property. He is so friendly and helpful and makes living here a great experience. Maintenance is very efficient and completes work orders in under a day. The pool has been under construction for some time so that is my only negative comment since it’s a commodity I would like to use.”
“I LOVE this apartment! I’ve been here for almost 2 years. It’s definitely my favorite apartment of all time. I love the two doors, one is a back door to the fire escape the other has a locked downstairs door where one must buzz to get in. I feel very safe due to it.My neighbors are wonderfully nice, polite and quiet too. Mixed crowd of college students to working professionals. Thankfully the walls are so thick most people can’t hear anything and the reverse is true too.Yes it is very old but that’s it’s charm! My suggestion for most people when living here: buy ceramic heaters off of Amazon for winter. Two is suffice. Get a 3rd one for backup or if you need to be toasty. My electric bill is never over $60 a month. I notice that if your neighbors run their air you won’t have to run yours as often.The only issue outside of the actual apartment are noise and parking.A. Tape your parking pass to your window to avoid towing from shamrock.B. Get city parking passes they’re only $25 a year!!! A Steal compared to most cities.C. Buy at least two noise machines! The bars and their patrons can get LOUD at night, and I mean ANY NIGHT. I run at least one during the week and two-three during the weekend.Otherwise it’s an adorably peaceful place to live.”
“Austin place has a variety of amenities including an excellent fitness center, a dog park, and a pool that is ideal for summer. The clubhouse features a movie room and a coffee bar, adding a nice touch to the community. Additionally, maintenance requests are usually addressed quickly.”

There are irresponsible dog owners living here but that's everywhere these days. Much respect to the team here showing up and getting whatever needs done - done and for answering all of my calls when I first moved in. I appreciate that!
As a fellow property management professional, I'm familiar with the developer of Liberty Place through a property in Philadelphia he developed and I had the pleasure of overseeing operations for with a different company who purchased the property. His properties are a beast to operate and maintain.
I decided to move here after being referred by a good friend and knowing the property is older but solid. For example: I barely have to use my heat, it doesn't even kick on most of the time and my apartment is 75 degrees inside. I have to crack windows to lower the temp in here! :)
So far so good, just hope folks start picking up after their dogs when the weather warms up!

“I've lived here for three and a half years and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a great location where you can walk down town to all the little shops and restaurants. The summers are full of music almost every night. My apartment had a beautiful view of a wooded area with deer and rabbits nearly every day. Anytime I needed help with maintenance they were there the same or next day. Everyone is friendly and I felt very safe while living here.”

“Trash can is often over flowing by mailboxes. Litter not being cleaned up in breezeways or surrounding areas - champion always made it a point to keep areas clean. Sidings along stairs need power washed badly! Loud music in cars being blasted after 10:00.
Unit AC/heating should be checked by maintenance twice yearly as Champion did which might prevent serious maintenance issues developing later and being more costly.
Dog poop being left on ground/sidewalk in front on complex. I’ve watched residents dogs poop and owners just leave it because it’s near sidewalk down towards pool.
Children should not be taking trash out as I watch one young girl take parents trash out regularly and she throws it on the ground or in the door of compactor and runs away. Never puts it where it belongs.”
