“This is a one of a kind building. The architecture is beautiful, Ohio’s landscape is mostly postmodern architecture but this building is just stunning. Knowing that is from 1924 and is this well conserved is remarkable. If you’re visiting Ohio like I was, this should be one of your stops: appreciate the views, the decoration, the amount of detail in doors, ceilings, lighting, for me the art-deco/baroque/whimsical architecture was just fantastic. Also the crew are friendly and welcoming so for me it was a 10/10.”

Maintenance is usually fast and same day and if not usually communicates when things will be done. Fun resident events I’ve racked up a decent amount of gift cards participating in raffles and events! Would recommend anyone looking for quiet housing with an experience live here.”

“We have been at Hawthorne Commons for a year now and feel very fortunate for the opportunity that came about which allowed us to move into the community. We built our house and lived there for twenty years, but upkeep is always a player with ownership, and we felt it was time to sell and find somewhere that provided upkeep for its residents. We didn’t come from an area that offered 55+ communities, so this was all new to us. When we initially met Paige and looked at a model unit, we immediately knew this was the scenario we were seeking. Dublin offers about anything you’re looking for and we are extremely happy with the health care that is offered in the area. We are also happy in finding a church which has welcomed us and we already have made many friends there. We are so much more involved socially then ever before and the staff and the friendly residents at Hawthorne Commons have made that possible.”

“I recently contacted the leasing office via telephone and Leasing Professional Bri answered the line. I was in need of apartment information in addition to their CMHA voucher standards. Bri was extremely professional and transparent. With a mild misunderstanding during our phone call Bri maintained professional decorum. “I LOVE this apartment! I’ve been here for almost 2 years. It’s definitely my favorite apartment of all time. I love the two doors, one is a back door to the fire escape the other has a locked downstairs door where one must buzz to get in. I feel very safe due to it.My neighbors are wonderfully nice, polite and quiet too. Mixed crowd of college students to working professionals. Thankfully the walls are so thick most people can’t hear anything and the reverse is true too.Yes it is very old but that’s it’s charm! My suggestion for most people when living here: buy ceramic heaters off of Amazon for winter. Two is suffice. Get a 3rd one for backup or if you need to be toasty. My electric bill is never over $60 a month. I notice that if your neighbors run their air you won’t have to run yours as often.The only issue outside of the actual apartment are noise and parking.A. Tape your parking pass to your window to avoid towing from shamrock.B. Get city parking passes they’re only $25 a year!!! A Steal compared to most cities.C. Buy at least two noise machines! The bars and their patrons can get LOUD at night, and I mean ANY NIGHT. I run at least one during the week and two-three during the weekend.Otherwise it’s an adorably peaceful place to live.”

“I’ve had a generally positive experience living here. The location is convenient and the overall layout and design of the units feel modern and well thought out. The space works especially well for a small family and the atmosphere is relatively quiet and comfortable.

Maintenance has been responsive when issues come up and that makes a big difference in day-to-day living. The common areas are usually kept clean and it feels like there’s some level of care put into the property.

That said, there are a few areas that could be improved. Communication from management isn’t always as clear or timely as it could be and there have been moments where follow-up was needed. Depending on your neighbors, noise can occasionally be an issue but that’s fairly typical for apartment living.

Overall, it’s a solid place to live. It’s not perfect but it offers a good balance of comfort, location and livability. I’d recommend it to someone looking for a practical and decent apartment option.”

“I lived at Austin Place Columbus for two years, and it was truly one of the best places I have lived in during my time in the United States. The community is quiet, peaceful, and conveniently located near everything you need, while still being far enough from the noise and busy areas. The neighbors were friendly and respectful, which made it a wonderful environment for my family.

The management and office team were incredibly supportive and professional throughout my entire stay. Maintenance requests were always handled quickly and efficiently, and any concerns were addressed with care and respect. Over the two years, the staff felt more like family than just a management team. I especially looked forward to the seasonal events and activities they organized for residents, which helped create a strong sense of community.

When I first signed my lease, I was honestly concerned about the schools because of the Columbus location. I have children in elementary, middle, and high school, and education was a major factor for our family. However, when I enrolled my children, I learned that the schools were part of the South-Western City School District. The schools exceeded my expectations. My daughter in elementary school grew tremendously both academically and personally. Her teachers and principal were exceptional—caring, professional, and genuinely invested in their students' success. The middle and high school staff were also supportive, encouraging, and dedicated to helping students thrive.

Looking back, I consider my children's educational experience during our time here to have been a valuable investment in their future. We gained far more than just a place to live—we became part of a welcoming community.

If my plans had been to remain in the United States, I would have renewed my lease without hesitation. I highly recommend Austin Place Columbus to anyone looking for a safe, family-friendly, well-managed community with excellent staff and a positive living experience.”

“I’ve lived at Emerald Lakes for 5 years, and it’s been a great place to live. The office staff is always friendly and helpful, and maintenance responds quickly whenever I need something fixed or replaced.

I love having a private entrance because package deliveries are easy. The community is quiet, feels safe, and I enjoy seeing wildlife since my apartment is across from the trees. The gym, two pools, and washer/dryer hookups are great amenities, and having water included for a flat monthly rate is a nice bonus.

The only small downside is that Uber and some delivery apps can have trouble finding the exact building, but that’s never been a major issue. Overall, I highly recommend Emerald Lakes!”

“It's pretty good area, it's behind a large park. However, there's a large Indian community living this apartment area. If you are a person who prefer to live in a more diverse community, you will need to look elsewhere.”
