The American Banjo Museum is a very interesting and fun museum in a beautiful, historic building. It is jam-packed with banjos galore, featuring a diverse and impressive collection from the 1800s, 1900s, and 2000s. The displays are well-organized and well-done, with plenty of educational facts without an overwhelming amount of reading. Visitors can see how artistic the banjos are, learn about their rich history, and there is even a section dedicated to women banjo players. The staff are extremely friendly and happy to answer questions. A highlight is the selection of banjos to try, complete with a training video. It takes a good hour to an hour and a half to see everything. The admission price is great, making it a cool part of history put on beautiful display and a highly recommended activity in OKC.
