Chase Bank provides checking, savings, and mobile banking services, with experiences varying significantly by branch and situation. Several reviews highlight exceptional in-person service from specific bankers, describing them as amazing, professional, personal, extremely knowledgeable, kind, and pleasant. These bankers are credited with fixing problems, setting up accounts, offering better sign-up bonuses, customizing cards, and providing valuable guidance that complements online services. Customers express deep gratitude for this direct, helpful assistance. However, other experiences reveal serious problems. One customer reported a major issue with a broken external ATM that kept a deposit, spitting out a receipt that instructed them to call. Despite extensive work with a branch manager and calls to corporate, the bank insisted nothing was wrong with the ATM and denied the problem, creating red tape. The branch manager reportedly had no authority to obtain transaction video. The issue was only resolved after over two months with the intervention of a government agency, the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB), which prompted Chase to immediately respond, explain their reasoning, and credit the money back. Another customer found a branch unhelpful in person without an ID, contrasting that with generally helpful online service when reachable. Drove almost 30 minutes for them to be absolutely no help!! All because I left my ID, I’ve always been able to confirm my information or do what I needed to do OVER THE PHONE WITH NO ID. Chase sucks. But their online service is always helpful when you can get ahold of them :)
