“Patriot Garage teamed up with Soldiers Wish to provide an overhaul on a 1982 El Camino for one of their veterans. We were so blessed by all of the effort they put into making this build and presentation an amazing experience for everyone involved. It was a joy to be included in such a worthy cause and have so many wonderful people from their organization pour their hearts out to us as we built this car. Their dedication to serve our veterans is an inspiration and we look forward to working with them in the future. Thank you to the whole team at Soldiers Wish!!!”

“This place is an awesome stop right off Route 66/Southwest Blvd in the Red Fork area of Tulsa, Oklahoma. We didn’t get to go inside the building they have but we did walk around and see the things they keep outside on the property. A large historical steam powered locomotive engine is the star of the show. Also there is a caboose, passenger train car, an old city bus and an old railway maintenance truck. My favorite part was the super neat neon sign they have near the road. Route 66 is such an awesome part of Americana and I’m so glad that my hometown of Tulsa has a large role in the history of this special roadway. This should be a must stop on any Route 66 road-trip or if you’re in T-town visiting! Interesting, cool and historical place.”

“This is a thrift store purely run by volunteers to raise money to purchase home and school clothing for children who are bused in from all over Oklahoma. Please be aware the people are volunteers, not paid staff and give up their own precious time to do good and deserve respect from everyone who enters that front door.”

“I had such a wonderful experience coming here. The shop is very cute and clean, the selections are tasteful and carefully displayed. And the prices are great. The service was also wonderful. The ladies at the cashier were very helpful, and friendly, and didn’t mind my little one running around the shop trying to buy all their toys. Not your typical thrift shop experience. I will definitely be coming back.”

“What a cool place to stop in and learn and see a glimpse into the air history of Tulsa international airport. The guys working the museum were incredibly helpful and more than willing to give you a tour of the place. The exhibits were in excellent condition and the place was clean. Being able to get up close to the F-14, the space exhibits, and the Huey outside were neat to see and experience. If you are looking for a spot to stop at in Tulsa, I would highly reccomend adding this to your travel stop.”

“If your child has the opportunity to visit Biz Town, I would highly recommend it! All 3 of my kids were able to attend this trip with their school and it taught them invaluable lessons in what it is like to work, earn a paycheck, and then to spend and balance that money. They are encouraged to vote, attend the town meeting, visit the bank, doctor, radio station, and more. They get to take home little souvenirs that they buy and their name tag from the day. Such a great memory that is full of life lessons! I highly recommend!”

“It is only appropriate that I write this review on 211 Day! CSC does amazing work in our community and has been for 78 years. It was originally formed to bring social agencies together to communicate, identify issues of shared concern, and explore ways to work cooperatively to better serve people in need. Their vision is for Tulsa to be empowered to ignite opportunities and eliminate disparities for all people. Their mission is to confront challenges to health, social, education and economic opportunities, and strategically advance effective community-based solutions. They do this through research, planning, networking, and mobilizing resources. One of the things they do is run the 211 help line. Anyone can call be connected to the resources and services they need including help with food, clothing, utility/rent bills, housing, health services, employment and even crisis lines. It is a wonderful service for those organizations that are providing help. Help is also offered in other languages including Spanish, Zomi, and Burmese. CSC is a great resource when it comes to accessing demographic info, economic trends, and culture to provide leadership for best shaping a historically different new era ahead that will offer a high quality of life for Oklahomans. They use this information to implement an overall prevention strategy for enhancing human development focused on investing in people, enabling more individuals to care for themselves and their families, and to contribute to a positive civic health. Their main investment areas are: data & Information, education, health, housing & homelessness, reduced incarceration, and veterans. As a catalyst seeking and driving solutions to meet critical needs, they serve their mission through these five functions: Communicator, Convener, Connector, Creator, and Capacity-Builder.”

“Share House is a wonderful place, run by caring staff who work hard to help those in need. I send my homeless clients here when they finally get their apartments. All the furniture is donated by individuals and businesses. Sometimes, businesses, colleges, or hotels will remodel, and they'll give their old furniture to Share House. Sometimes, furniture stores will donate new mattresses. Share House then charges a small fee for a certain number of tickets, and the client shops for furniture, paying with tickets. The money Share House charges is used to pay their bills. If you have furniture you don't need, or if you're downsizing your home, please consider donating it to Share House. They are a great non-profit agency that helps local people in need. Share House also accepts lamps, small appliances, wall pictures, and other household goods, but mainly furniture.”
