Almost always respectful. Not much trouble in the neighborhood other than cops there, but someone is just doing there job. Most kids are in and out and don't cause trouble.

Staff there are more than willing to help people in need. The person has to be willing to put in the work too. Had only positive experiences with the staff there. Been working with them closely supporting others in the community, definitely better run than places like cornerstone.

About Durham Youth Services
At Durham Youth Services, we partner with youth to achieve and maintain lasting solutions to their housing crisis. We are best known for Joanne’s House, our emergency shelter in Ajax for youth 16-24 (of any gender identity or expression). When youth intake into Joanne’s House, they are enrolling in a supported housing program that comes with a safe place to stay temporarily, (with nutritious meals and on-site laundry) while they are working toward independent housing. We also run programs to prevent youth homelessness, and we offer transitional housing and other supports to serve chronically homeless youth end the cycle of homelessness and achieve stable, independent housing.
