I was looking forward to buying a track suit from Roots since I heard nothing but positive reviews. I was greeted upon entering the store in a friendly manner and I was also asked if there was anything I was looking for which I appreciated. I stopped by this location on a Friday afternoon and it was not busy at the time. When I was in the fitting room I kindly asked for help in changing a few different sizes as I accidentally grabbed all the wrong sizes from the gender free section. The vibe changed at this point. The employees appeared and sounded annoyed that I asked them for different sizes for 6 pieces of clothing and seemed to intentionally ignore me the second time as all my verbal attempts to get their attention were not acknowledged. The 3 employees were unpacking new stock at the cash counter which is in very close proximity to the fitting room and clearly preferred talking among themselves. After the fitting room I was familiar with the sizing and left my unwanted articles of clothing in the fitting room then went to look for other colors to purchase in the styles I liked. All the clothing I was looking at was on hangers and racks and it wasnt until 10 minutes later when I started looking at the folded clothing on the shelves I heard "Can I help you?! What are you looking for?" in a very unpleasant tone. It was clear that the employee was worried I was going to mess up the folded clothing and that was the only reason she offered me help. I have a retail background of 20 years so I am aware of the tactic but I'm also mindful of how I handle clothing when shopping. The experience started off on a good note then went downhill and I left feeling disappointed and questioning if I did something wrong to be treated the way I was. It's also worth mentionining that when I went to pay for my items the employees provided top notch service.

Ridiculous service for customers.A worker - “Chloe” was very very very rude. ??????????Never see a worker who treat their customers as disdain. She didn’t want to her customers to touch the clothes which is sorted by her even you bought their products.Today I just wanna check size and graphic design so I took only 3 clothes then put it back. She was glowering to me few seconds. She was reluctantly sorting those t-shirts then continued glowered me.If you don’t like your job, you can find other job rather than hated your customers.If you enjoy their worker who despise you, just go ahead. You gonna get Horrible experience from her. I eventually bought some products but I was so upset to ROOTS barrie service today.Luckily, cashier was friendly.Hopefully, the location management can improve this issue.Don’t put your business out. Went in to pick up gifts for my bachelorette party and had the best interactions with Donna and her sales associate Chloe! Ended up purchased several of the cabin socks (the long ones) and flannels for the girls. Chloe was so pleasant and helpful, she made it super easy to be a customer and I was in-and-out in no time! Definitely heading back for that Banff mini bag I saw ?

This store had nice service and was clean, typical Roots store. I am quite disappointed in Roots marketing they claim made in Canada but aside from their leather products, everything seems to be made in China. While I will agree the fabrics are better than other brands the prices are unjustifiable.

Not being very familiar with the store I was wandering around and then this glowing light of hope named Chloe, gave me ideas and help me pick out the perfect gifts for my family! Normally have a really good experience here. Really nice selection of product and friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately last time I went with my sister I had a negative experience with the staff on call Tuesday march 22nd. My sister was looking to buy a wallet and was in between a couple. We were hovered over the entire time so we left to think about it because we felt pressured and uncomfortable. When we came back to purchase the wallet we were glared at when we came back and the drawer was locked. We were not rude, we were very considerate and never gave a reason that should have deemed us suspicious. I work in customer service so I understand maybe the wallet section could be a problem section for the store when it comes to theft but it never feels good to be treated some way, especially when you’ve done nothing to warrant it.

I had a bad experience as this roots, the employees were very unfriendly unlike the other retail workers at Georgian, they seemed very rude like they hated their job. It’s not a buyers fault if you are having a bad day, the only person that was nice was the cashier I definitely won’t be going here again.

Decided to check out this location for the first time, and the first staff member who greeted us was very kind and helpful, but the second woman working was the complete opposite. I was just looking for a price tag on a sweater when she condescendingly asked if I needed assistance very loudly. I was taken back by her attitude. Especially since up until then my experience was very easy going and pleasant, but politely I said "no I'm fine thank you",when she took it upon herself to again, say very loudly, the sizes of the sweaters in a way that heavily insinuated that they wouldnt fit me, and then look at me as if It was a problem i had even entered the store. I left shortly after that, which is a shame beacuse I really wanted to purchase something. I understand that working retail isnt easy, but being agressive towards customers for no reason is just not appropriate. Please fix your attitude, customers are allowed to look for price tags.
