The "fresh" produce can leave a lot to be desired. Searching for one item (that unfortunately is pre-packaged and not lose) and went through anout 10 pack all which had varying degrees of mold on the vegetable. Quite disappointing.

Updated Feb 2024: They have brought back the 50% off stickers!Updated Jan 2024: I used to love this place but am VERY dissapointed with the change in discounting. The 50% stickers were a great way to prevent food from being thrown out and giving customers a much needed discount. Getting rid of them just greedy. I am really dissapointed in this action.Great store, lots of parking lots of selection. Great beer selection in the store. Have good Covid 19 rules in place. It also shared a parking lot with canadian tire so it can be a one stop shop on the way to the cottage. As a result it get quite busy on fridays!

This store has a new policy of selling customers expired or near-expired goods. In the past, these items would be removed from the rest of the product and placed with other near-expired goods and sold at a discount to avoid waste. That was a smart, efficient, and effective solution. This policy of leaving near-expired items out (loaves of bread, boxes of 20+ cookies, and other items that cannot be realistically consumed in the 24-hours before they expire) means that unless you mindfully check the dates you're probably going to get stale garbage. It also drastically increases the likelihood that you'll be buying expired items as well, as the products aren't being checked as much as before (once to move to discount, and again to remove from the shelves). If Mitchell's is so greedy and thinks so little of their customers that they are willing to completely disregard something so foundational to a grocer, I will take my business down the road. I would rather shop local, but I would rather not get home and see several items are effectively trash already because they expire tomorrow. Eating food past date is not the end of the world, but what the hell are we paying for?

Been getting some lunches here while working. They have a counter where you can order stuff to be made for you like sandwhiches. Never had seen that before at a independent. The staff are nice. Food is good

This store is a ripoff. Loblaws stores went back to 50% reduced pricing while this dump has decided to steal 20% and stays at 30% reduced. Thieves run this place! Don't shop at this store unless you want to pay overinflated prices on EVERYTHING

They sell us old meat and refuse to replace. Yes,we lost the receipt but you called my wife a liar Mitch. This is the only store we buy meat. Not cool. How do you stay in business. You just lost a customer and gained an enemy...good going.
