“There are many things to say about Chestnut Avenue Auto. All of which are positive. I could say those I spoke to communicated well, that they were timely with service, attentive to my requests, transparent with cost and options, neighbourly, kind, provided excellent work, and so on. But I think there are two things which make any mechanic standout: first, I had a problem with my vehicle, one which was a safety issue, and it is fixed well. More importantly, I know why it was fixed, how it was fixed, I knew my options beforehand, when it would be fixed by, and knew before it was fixed how much it would cost me. And second, I, within a day, recommended the shop to a colleague who was looking for a trustworthy mechanic.
This is all to say that the ability to feel comfortable with a mechanic is paramount in my mind. Cars cost money, that is a given. However, feeling comfortable about that expense for service is not always a given. It depends on the mechanic and whether they have the qualities I mentioned earlier. I was comfortable with the expense for service at Chestnut Ave Auto. So much so I extended that sentiment to others. In my mind that is the hallmark of any upstanding mechanic.

“I had an excellent experience from start to finish. When I brought in my car, I met John, whose customer service was top-notch. The communication was great—I was kept informed throughout the process about the repairs and timeline.
Issues that other shops had trouble diagnosing were resolved here. After driving the car for a few days, another issue came up, and when I brought it back, they fixed it at no extra charge.
My car has been running smoothly ever since. This is definitely my one and only go-to car workshop. Highly recommend!”

I stopped using them when they changed the policy for oil changes when they refused to use customer oil and filter. In general nothing agains them, just their office might have been a bit cleaner.”

“I'm a licensed auto technician and after I was unable to do my own alignments because I moved to a shop that did not have alignment equipment, I was unable to find someone who knew how to properly align a vehicle so it drove straight down the road and didn't burn off the tires. After 6 to 8 shops attempted to align my lifted 2022 ram, my parts supplier action truck sent my vehicle to auto experts and I couldn't be happier with the results. My truck drives straight as an arrow with no signs of cupping or scrubbing on my new 36 inch toyo open country tires. I will never take a vehicle I own anywhere else to be aligned.”

“I had a really positive experience at CRS Auto and would absolutely recommend them.
I brought my car in with concerns about poor fuel economy and multiple brake and safety warning lights. While the initial inspection itself was a visual/mechanical check (about an hour), what really stood out was the time and care they took afterward to explain everything in detail. I ended up staying close to two hours total, and a large part of that was spent having a thoughtful, productive discussion about the car, possible causes, and realistic next steps.
They checked for brake drag, reviewed the brake fluid level, and explained how system sensitivity can sometimes trigger multiple warnings without there being a major mechanical failure. They topped up the brake fluid at no extra charge, and all warning indicators cleared immediately. There was zero upselling, no pressure to authorize unnecessary work, and no dismissiveness — just clear explanations and honest guidance.
For $59.90 + tax, I got far more value than expected. They were extremely transparent, not pushy at all, and genuinely generous with their time and knowledge. That level of honesty and patience is rare.

“Was here recently for my Car’s A/C repair. They diagnosed and rectified the issue. Also, told me that the previous garage didn’t fix the issue at all ( the previous garage lied that they filled the refrigerant and when it didn’t work they performed leakage test to verify the leakage location of refrigerant. They charged me approximately 300$ for these 2 processes, however when I went back to them asking what do we do now as the issue is not fixed, they said they are not able to find where the leak is and can’t do anything! Such a lame attitude).
The owner here told me that there is no trace of addition of dye in the A/C system to verify the leakage. It looked like the previous garage didn’t do the leakage test at all however changed me for that process.
I liked the here the diagnosis, knowledge and fixing of the issue just for a nominal price. Since then I am a regular customer here.”

“My 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe with 108,000km had a diagnostic code come up, which indicated a potential issue with the torque converter. I took it to Hyundai and they said a whole new transmission replacement was needed at a ridiculous price with no further details. I was advised to take my vehicle to Sampson Transmission and am so happy I did. Sam and the guys checked on my car and did some research and found that a system software update for this issue was on the Hyundai bulletin, and advised to get that done, while also giving me a very reasonable quote in the event the upgrade doesn't work. I can't explain how much I appreciated Sam and his crew for taking the time to go over everything with me and giving me the peace of mind that I was in good hands. I highly recommend Sampson Transmission and will be letting all friends and family know as well !!!”

“I took my 2021 Ford Ranger to Precision Dent Repair on Rymal Road to fix three dents on the hood, each a couple inches long and in some pretty awkward spots. I sent them pictures first and they were helpful right from the start. Dan and his team were easy to deal with, explained everything clearly, and were upfront about what they could do.
One of the dents was at a tricky angle and took a bit more work. Dan didn’t rush it and made sure the clear coat stayed perfect. He spent the extra time on it and didn’t charge anything extra, which I really appreciated. The job took an extra day, but it was totally hassle free.
