Don't love going here at all. Although I believe the staff can be knowledgeable if you get the right one on the right day, most have a level of attitude towards those like me who are trying to learn how to care for a new animal.
Being pulled in a number of directions with experienced snake owners, other pets stores, the breeder etc im trying to learn, ask questions and do what is best with the information I have as things come up. When I called to ask about live rat options, i overheard sassy remarks from the associate passing along information. When in store trying to explain my situation I was given attitude about "not being the person I talked to on the phone" "3 weeks not eating for a snake is nothing, come talk to me when it's been 3 years" and "the breeder should have told you all this, they don't and people bring their problems here".
I would love to understand how any of this instills confidence in a new reptile owner who is already worried about a snake not eating despite much research, many attempts and discussions.
They seem to want to take your money and get you in and out as fast as possible with very little interest in teaching.
Ill be taking my business elsewhere after this experience despite being one of the few places to go to for feeder rats that I know of, and being the closest.

Bald guy at the counter was very rude. Clearly doesn’t know what customer service is. His attitude is as big as him. Skip this branch.

The employees here are always extremely knowledgeable and most times happy to provide information.
I highly recommend Big Al's for a go to place for fish and knowledge.

I went into Big Al's on Sunday September 29 to buy 2 Amano shrimp for my tank. The man helping us brought us to their tank and began grabbing for them. We had requested 2 smaller shrimp, as I currently have 1 small shrimp in my tank and wanted them to be similar in size. He was pretty hostile in response to this request, but said okay. He reached a net into the tank, grabbing several shrimp, and then shook the net over the bag outside the tank until he got 2 in the bag. As a result of this, several shrimp fell onto the floor. The man noticed this, and looked down at the shrimp flopping on the floor, so we didn't say anything assuming he would help the shrimp after he finished helping us. However he continued to seal up the bag, hand it to us, and walk away to help someone else. It was horrific watching the shrimp dying on the floor with no care or consideration of the staff. We ended up picking up the shrimp ourselves and putting them back in the tank as we could not walk away after witnessing that. This is one of many times we have witnessed carelessness in regards to the safety of the animals, and we won't be returning.

Great variety of fish with the best prices I've seen in the area, and the staff are friendly and super helpful. The atmosphere is lovely as well.

I have had 3 different experiences at this location. None were good, staff were like salesman on commission selling crap. Been told on 2 occasions fish were healthy and by the time I returned home...DEAD. asked for deals and straight out blasted even tho it's overpriced. Been in the hobby 35th year and never felt so unappreciated. Owner/ Management need to crack down on all individuals if they plan on having loyal customers. The staff are just plain rude! Like a male menstrual cycle explosion in your fishroom.
