Great iconic Canadian brand. Courteous helpful staff. Very pleased with service provided. Will shop here again. 4 stars as there isn't a wide assortment, but I got what I wanted.

There is an employee that goes by the name Muneeb ( the brown one) he was very disrespectful, he was making fun of my hoodie saying it smells like curry because im Indian and also that I need a new hoodie becuase I only have one and I rarely wash it. I dont blame him honestly.

Extremely terrible place to go to as there’s barely anyone to help you or acknowledge you. It’s totally understandable that it’s the holiday season and it’s crowded but if no one is trying or I’d say even bothering to help you, then it’s a different thing. Went there yesterday to check if I can find a trouser for my baby’s hoodie that I bought online as it’s out of stock everywhere. Also wanted to exchange another sweater size for myself that I got online too. Lady on the cash counter was busy answering a customer’s questions who was going back and forth to get different items and asking about the prices and if she finds an item is final sale, then she goes and gets another one without thinking or being reminded about line up. This is one thing, another interesting part is that there were approximately 5-6 other employees and a lady who seemed like a manager which initially I thought was giving instructions to staff to help her with some stuff. Later I realised she’s not even bothering about a line up or customers, instead she’s busy shopping herself. One of an employee came and checked her items out, she left the shop calling somebody to hand them the items she bought and the employee who checked her out, vanished without acknowledging the line up and started packing packing things that were already packed and arranged. Note that, the store wasn’t overly crowded neither the things were scattered everywhere. After waiting nearly 15 mins in line, I complained the lady who was busy entertaining the price tag and sale questions that there are 3 cash counters there and a line up behind me and there’s no one coming to help. To which she said she’s not responsible for other counters and why am I yelling at her. I wasn’t yelling at her but I was frustrated as my baby was crying as well. No one stepped in to help still, and 45 mins were left to close down. No apology or acknowledgment from the staff. I think Roots company needs to tell these employees when hiring them that it’s a high end brand and people come to shop the highly priced items. Role comes with duties and responsibilities. Customer comes first. Manager or whoever was it, only stepped out to handover the items to her family or friends. It wasn’t her break time as the store was closing soon. The management needs to take an action on these kind of behaviours and train the employees on when and what times can they shop for themselves. Obviously not when there’s a line up and customers are waiting to be checked out and the employees are busy in their own shopping. 3 cash counters, at least 2 should have been working. Not going to this place ever.

Our next family Toronto adventure take us to Roots located inside of Yorkdale Shopping Center with a category of 3.9 and more than 100 reviews, opening door in 1973 founded by Michael Budman & Don Green held Canadian brand that sells apparel, leather bags, small leather goods, footwear, athletic wear, and home furnishings.Excellent quality en sus collection for winter , women and men have to opportunity to buy what they looking for.Our experience was good we founded what I want to buy and the service to the costumer nothing bad to say in general great service.

Today i came into this location with the intention to purchase an item i had put on hold just to come in and find out that it was sold. It was a sweater from the barbie collection which is limited edition. The team was hesitant to put the item on hold in the first place however they made the exception to do so which i was appreciative of. I drove 1 hour to yorkdale just to be told that my item was sold due to a mixup; i even informed them that i was coming from a good distance. While the associate jessie tried to locate and ship the item to me, they could not guarantee a transfer to a different store would be approved although he located the item and their staff was at fault for this issue. When i asked for an alternative barbie sweater be put on hold while i await the transfer approval, jessie told me no he cannot put it on hold and insisted i just buy it. At this point i was extremely disappointed that this simple accommodation would not be made considering they sold my item i had on home hold. He also seemed to be impatient with me when the line started to grow. I wasted my time and gas traveling to this location to have basically nothing done for me and terrible customer service. I took the matters into my own hands and reached out to the eaton centre team where my sweater was at and they were more than accommodating. Its extremely disappointing that such a high traffic location is such poorly run and there is clearly no proper communication or organization amongst their team.

The patch machined does not work. They refused to sell me the patches which I can apply myself. I am.dressed head to toes in Roots, wearing Roots bag but still ... did not "trust" me to sell me the patch.

Great experience! Managed to find the roots award jacket in the exact colour and size for $100 less than to order it online. luckily the mannequin was wearing it? and staff were very friendly!

I came here in Jan 2022 to buy a jacket. I was looking at a jacket and the manager took it from my hands, and asked me multiple times if I wanted to buy it (because of the price point). I found this very off-putting, and she spoke in a condescending manner. It was a horrible experience to feel judged, and made to feel that I couldn't afford to shop there. Based on the previous comments, it seems that others have issues with the manager too. She is degrading and condescending. I will certainly be contacting Roots Canada HQ about her behaviour.
