This place was way bigger on the inside than it looked from the outside! Cool convenience store with a mix of regular convenience store stuff and homemade foods. Was very pleasantly surprised to see a great selection of non alcoholic wines and beers. There’s a really nice shop on the upper level with fancier home and personal items like leather purses, Irish wool sweaters, and birdhouses. The baked goods were good — Boston cream was pretty run of the mill, but the cinnamon twist and butter tarts were fantastic. Nice store in a little village.

Good food, i had a smoked meat samich with a butter tart for a sweet treat. They had a little spot for me to eat. Outside.

Ok. I'm just gonna say it. The best sandwiches I've ever had it my life. Period. This is not up for debate. I go everywhere and try them all. This store has been in operation since 1840. Wonder why? I can tell you I know why. The food is too die for. I'll literally make another trip to come back here and eat them again. I got one today. I ate and then promptly proceeded to walk back in to try another one. I leave tomorrow and will be getting two more for the road back to TO. 12/10 for the best sandwiches in the world. Thank you guys and keep it up!

The best sandwich I’ve ever had! Fresh homemade bread, all the best fresh garden veggies and definitely made with love!! It was so good, after we sat out front and ate it, we went back in and each ordered another!
Highly recommend stopping in!

EVERY TIME I buy a butter tart I compare it to your Maple Butter Tart. Not sure why today I felt the need to buy one somewhere else and needless to say it did NOT even come close to the yumminess of the General store’s tarts. Silly me!!! not again!!

$50 of wood to build a ramp into the store would have prevented me from rolling my ankle walking into the store. There are steps leading up to the store, and a sign saying watch you step. There is then an immediate drop as you walk into the store... The sign is not enough and it is misleading. This drop off is inexcusable and you are waiting for a lawsuit to happen. I will remove this review when this issue is resolved.

Our first time here and everything we had was absolutely delicious! Bacon on a bun, pulled pork from the freezer, cookies, scones, buns, everything! Will definitely be back.
