Department Stores in Port Perry, ON

“This is a unique place, in that it is like a mini department store. They carry a huge variety of items - high end shoes (Blundstone, Keen, for example), purses, clothing including pyjamas, jewellery, outdoor stuff, slippers and decor items, to name a few.
We were here at midday on a weekday in December, and the Xmas shoppers were out in full force, and one can look around without being approached by staff. It is a small town establishment catering to a wide variety of clients, all under one roof.

“Went to this location to ask if they could fix a bent temple on my readers, even though I bought them somewhere else. Karen, the optometrist, said that one side was very bent and the screw might snap but if I wanted she would try and straighten them out, which she did, without cost. As a senior I really appreciate that there was no push for a sale. I will definitely be back.

Becuse of this positive experience. I made an appt. for an eye exam. The doctor was one of the nicest and most pleasant optometrists I have ever had, explaining everything. They did not try to sell me glasses when I said I would come back. This is my new eye care centre. Very pleased.”

“I had a horrible experience with Walmart online. I had ordered something to be shipped to the store, the order was missed, I couldn’t cancel it, it was a disaster. After that experience I had sworn off Walmart altogether. I went to the customer service desk to get a physical receipt of the return and had the most amazing experience from an employee named Sherry. She was absolutely wonderful, apologized immensely (even though it had nothing to do with her), and said the online process was usually seamless. Her professionalism and attitude saved me from abandoning Walmart and saved them from losing a customer. Employees like this are few and far between these days, I hope she is appreciated and acknowledged/compensated appropriately.”
