Kai Wei Supermarket offers very cheap and affordable fresh produce, including fruits and vegetables like strawberries, blueberries, apples, spinach, tomatoes, and bok choy. It has a great assortment of fruits, legumes, and groceries, with a wide variety of Asian products and obscure Chinese ingredients. The quality is good and fresh, often much better and less expensive than bigger chains like Loblaws or Metro. Prices are the best for produce in downtown Toronto and have not spiked compared to bigger chains. The cashiers are quick and efficient. The shop front has not changed much. It is very busy on weekends, so visiting on weekdays is recommended.

A time machine to a simpler time along Spadina. It still looks exactly the same as it was 30+ years ago. With some prices also from 30 yrs ago like 2 boxes of blackberries for a loonie! Take that inflation. Don't ever change.

I like the people that work there, I mean if you don’t know the language just gotta make signs and or yell louder. But seriously great place to shop 🙏
