We had to make a quick pivot due to the weather and Chef Pierre responded to our request right away and put the whole event together within 24 hours We knew immediately we would be in good hands and he guided us through the process the whole way. When the party started we were greated by a sign welcoming us and a charcuterie board and a signature cocktail and mocktail. We smoothly moved into our lesson - which was preparing an Italian menu - and we learned so much from Chef Pierre and his team. Then everything was beautifully plated and brought to us in a private dining experience. We could not be happier with our experience which was 100% better than our plan A. Highly recommend this experience as a group activity!”

“I cannot say enough amazing things about Cucinato and, especially, Bruno! My girls and I had the absolute BEST time celebrating my bachelorette here this past weekend. What we thought would be a cooking class turned into an entire experience that we will never forget. Bruno was absolutely incredible. He was hilarious, welcoming, and so passionate about what he does. It never felt like we were simply taking a cooking class. It genuinely felt like we were in his home, cooking together, sharing stories, and learning from him as he passed down his knowledge, traditions, and heritage. As an Italian who has been cooking with my Nonna since I was a little girl, this experience was incredibly special to me. Bruno somehow brought me right back to those moments in the kitchen with my Nonna. It truly felt like home, and that feeling made the night even more meaningful. Bruno kept us laughing the entire time, and made the experience so personal and memorable. My girls and I are still talking about how much fun we had! If you are looking for a place to celebrate a bachelorette, birthday, shower, or honestly ANY special occasion, I would recommend Cucinato and Bruno in a heartbeat! “My company has hosted our holiday party at the Fifth Social Club for the past two years, and we’ve absolutely loved it! The venue is such a fun space with plenty of room to dance, lounge on comfy couches, and mingle cocktail-style. The food was incredible—they partner with Pai for catering—and they took care of everything from the DJ to the selfie station. The holiday décor was fantastic and made the space feel super festive. Working with the staff was a breeze—they were attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly. Huge thanks to Richard and the team for two amazing back-to-back parties!”

“We had our wedding at Hotel Ocho and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Everything went so smoothly from start to finish, and the entire team made our wedding day feel effortless. Working with Rish throughout the planning process was such a pleasure. They were easy to communicate with, accommodating, and made everything leading up to the wedding feel stress free. On the day of the wedding, Chris, Rish, and the entire team were absolutely amazing. They were incredibly attentive, helpful, and made sure everything was taken care of behind the scenes so we could fully enjoy our day. The hotel itself was also perfect for our wedding. The rooms were spacious and gave us plenty of room to get ready, which was especially nice with the wedding party. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, and having everyone stay onsite made the whole experience so convenient. We’re so grateful to the entire Hotel Ocho team for helping make our wedding day so special. We would highly recommend Hotel Ocho to anyone looking for a beautiful, intimate venue with an amazing team!”

“We recently hosted a wedding celebration at this venue for our son and his bride. October 4th to be precise! It was a multi cultural event, hence we were very keenly looking for a place that would cater to guests from a mix of Jamaican, Indian, Sri Lankan and Canadian communities. To our very pleasant surprise, Mr. Muraly the manager of this convention centre was able to calm our nerves within the first 10 minutes of our meeting, by suggesting a fushion menu that consisted of several West Indian dishes and Sri Lankan dishes and bridging the gap with a wonderful and tasteful pasta station that accommodated the rest of the food preferences. End of the day, all guests was talking very highly of the food quality which was exactly what we were looking for The quality of the service staff was exceptional too, going around serving guests and attending to their needs cheerfully. A special shout out to the Bar lady Jeanne, who also performed an excellent job behind the counter. Overall, the Banquet hall decor was very tastefully done too. We had requested for a simple and elegant atmosphere, and that was exactly what we got with tastefull colours that were not overbearing. Finally, the cost of the event was very reasonable and that credit goes solely to Mr Muraly who ensured that we were provided everything we requested within a very reasonable budget. I strongly recommend them for anyone looking to host a great multicultural festival without worrying too much about cost.”

Even though it’s a microcinema (with so much character and history) it was the perfect size for a group of 15 people to gather for a workshop. We sat around five tables, easily circulated around the demo tables and sourced material to work on individual and collective pieces, made prints, and showed examples of works on screen. We’d definitely love to host more workshops here!”

“I received a tour around the hart house. Thanks to the staffs. I find their workout equipments are fine. But the building itself looks historic inside and outside. I prefer a more modern setting with air conditioning in the summer. Unfortunately most area still do not have AC. I was sweating just walking around the hart house. The only area I felt some AC was the shower area inside the change room. I think the building would be feel warm and cozy in the winter though. Just not for me in the summer.”
