“Small Caribbean store with very friendly chatty owner (Captain Sunshine ). I wish the selection of fresh fruits and fresher vegetables were available but I know sourcing it can be hard unless you arein Toronto. Did buy a nice Dutch pot and some Jamaican sweet treats. Will be back here again for sure”

“This store is NO LONGER 24 HRS. They make pizza in the deli that is 13$ for a really large two topping made to order pie. They also sell slices for $3.99. I quite enjoy it! There is also a worker named Keith that is literally the loveliest human being on the planet.”
“Great variety of grocery items at a really good price. The meat section maintains all the food safety and hygiene protocols for which I always prefer to purchase my meats from MF Foodmart. “I was browsing the internet and I usually don't write reviews, but I saw this one and I'm really sorry for some people who leave comments unfairly and maliciously, especially about a store that is incredibly popular in the Glebe area, offers fresh products with reasonable prices (are Whole Foods prices cheaper than Metro's???). The staff is also exceptionally kind and beloved, always helpful and responsible. Especially the person that someone mentioned (Armin), who always helps me with packaging. I will never forget the day I felt ill in the store and how he assisted me!”

We were making Kare Kare (peanut stew) and badly needed Bagoong (shrimp paste) and these guys had it!! It's a nice little store and the workers here are super nice. If you need some Filipino items, this store can be your lifeline!”
“I've been a customer for 30 years. The store has never looked better and there has been a noticeable improvement on the produce aisle ! For example, there were nice baskets of yellow beans for a few weeks this summer which I appreciated ! I sense the store is trying hard and that effort is also appreciated ! “Definitely more on the expensive side compared to other grocery stores, however the quality is definitely above standard too. Fruit and vegetables are always fresh, as are the meat, fish, deli and bakery products. If you want to save money, this is probably not the best place for you. But if you're looking for good quality food, try IGA.”
“Great grocery selection and even better customer service I would rate Adonis 5 stars for the amazing variety of groceries they offer that I can't easily find anywhere else, but what really makes the experience stand out is the friendly cashiers, and one in particular, i checked my ticket and her name was Yesmine (Cashier #253) i went on September 29, 2025, right before closing, and even at the end of the day, she was warm, smiling, and genuinely helpful, she assisted me with my groceries and made me feel welcome something she always does. i tell you Every time I shop at Adonis, I try to go through her line because she treats customers with such kindness and sincerity, her smile is contagious, and I always leave the store in a better mood after interacting with her. It’s employees like Yesmine who turn a regular grocery run into a positive and memorable experience. Thank you miss Yesmine”

“Don't normally shop here, but Loblaws stopped carrying the Pure Life Peach Iced Tea, and I can only find it at Metro now. One of the managers Ian was extremely helpful and nice. I could shop at any Metro, but I'd rather shop here where the staff obviously values their customers.”
“Just like any other food store, but lately the fresh produce has been of poor quality. It goes bad within a day or two, and they still insist on spraying mist over it to make it look better than it really is.”
“You would think being a discount grocer, the products would be lesser quality...not the case. I was so surprised to see produce fresher than the leading more expensive grocers. The staff were friendly, know where to locate items I could not find and very clean store.”

“I think this place the best selection for most things among all the halal stores in town (lots of exotic drinks/sweets, huge tea/coffee aisle -they also have light-roasted Gulf coffee!)
What surprised me was that they have inexpensive small hookah pipes. Much smaller and cheaper than the ones you find at dedicated hookah stores.”

“This used to be my old neighborhood A&P back in the day, so when I stumbled upon a Metro I wasn't sure what to expect. I was not disappointed at all. This is a clean well kept, well stocked store. We were able to find all the things we were looking for. There is lots of variety and options available. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. There was plenty of parking available and easily accessible for those with mobility issues. There were plenty of carts to use in various sizes and all appealed clean and in good repair. We were especially pleased with some baked cheese bread from their bakery. No long lineups and I will happily be going back to this store!”
