EDIT: The parking exit is now fixed. The exit is now very safe thanks to an added stop sign and a median.β

I wish the selection of fresh fruits and fresher vegetables were available but I know sourcing it can be hard unless you arein Toronto. Did buy a nice Dutch pot and some Jamaican sweet treats. βGreat variety of grocery items at a really good price. The meat section maintains all the food safety and hygiene protocols for which I always prefer to purchase my meats from MF Foodmart. They are also accommodating to special requests and takes order over phone if needed. Great staff, helpful and courteous.β

βThis review is long overdue. I have shopped here for years. I worked in the Glebe in 2015 and again in 2022 through 2024. This is one of the nicest grocery stores in the city. The selection is excellent for the size of store and they have some specialty products I rarely see. Kira checked me out and expertly packed my bags, as I had the pleasure of shopping today! I was able to get the Guinness for my Irish stew too! Ran into Ian, such a terrific manager, and was assisted by Don who helped me take my groceries out down a very slushy sidewalk and waited until my Uber arrived. He helped load up and saw me safely on my way home. I really can't say enough about the service way more then 5. I would give them 100 stars. Thank you!β
βThey carry tastee patties ?, frozen and ready to eat. Also their selection of spices, king fish, goat etccc, also actually ready to fry plantains is consistant.β
βAlways well stocked, clean. Produce most and fish and good quality and vast selection. They offer paper bags if you forget tour reusable ones and they have packers to pack your groceries so you don't have to. My favorite grocery store in my neighborhoodβ

βAlthough the store is quite small for a Provigo, they have a huge selection of vegan and gluten free PC brand stuff. And let me tell you, it feels good to have good products for cheaper! They taste really good as well. I go there for specific things that no where else has, not even other Provigos! Well doneβ
βWe found this place through a random Google search when we were looking for some Filipino items. We were making Kare Kare (peanut stew) and badly needed Bagoong (shrimp paste) and these guys had it!! It's a nice little store and the workers here are super nice. If you need some Filipino items, this store can be your lifeline!β

βBLACKBURN HAMLET ON This is my Metro of choice because of distance, friendly staff , meat dept and choices. some improvement in cleaniness of the outside of the Plaza, as of Fall2025. Thank you as great cashiers; cheerful and helpful. Store owner should consider providing paper bags (for fee) for those who forget their shopping bag, they are more sustainable than plastic. thank you!β

βDefinitely more on the expensive side compared to other grocery stores, however the quality is definitely above standard too. Fruit and vegetables are always fresh, as are the meat, fish, deli and bakery products. If you want to save money, this is probably not the best place for you. But if you're looking for good quality food, try IGA.β

βI love this IGA itβs the best one in all of the Outaouais region, Gatineau and hull and Aylmer, the food is ultra fresh and crisp and letβs not forget the quality is as prime as can be. They get first pick from suppliers , Farmers alike so we can reap all the benefits and as we all know Canadians donβt eat out like most other countries like the united states of America where eating out is customary and a daily thing for them so in comparison for us Canadians we want our food and produce to be ultra fresh for all thoses fabulous recipes we love to make. And make daily and on average 2 to 3 times daily. Oh and one last thing before I run out of space .They have all the update high tech recycling pods (machines) that accept all the types of containers, bottles, cans , plastic storage food containers of all shapes and sizes like plastic milk jugs for 2$ each , cans 10c to 25c, water bottles 10c to 1.50 and so on. Theses prices all came into affect in late 2023- early 2024 if Iβm correct but yes they accept any containers the better the quality the container is the more money youβll get and or also prices varies as well from size to size. Thereβs a website you can go look and find all you water bottle brand names sizes and prices along with all other types of containers and prizes will surprise you just like I was the and still do when I see what people who donβt know about this throw out on a daily basis itβs money and money adds up. If your not comfortable turning them in , donβt give up then do like my aunt does she gives them to her great grandchildren! They love them. Itβs fun for them to do and especially when they are donβt and the cash in ticket reads 30-40 50 dollars. And when you think about what the alternative would have been.
Go to consignment itβs an app you can download and also the machines have the contact information on them and offer the booklets to bring home with you and or call them directly for help.β

βDon't normally shop here, but Loblaws stopped carrying the Pure Life Peach Iced Tea, and I can only find it at Metro now. One of the managers Ian was extremely helpful and nice. I could shop at any Metro, but I'd rather shop here where the staff obviously values their customers.β
βYou would think being a discount grocer, the products would be lesser quality...not the case. I was so surprised to see produce fresher than the leading more expensive grocers. The staff were friendly, know where to locate items I could not find and very clean store.β

βIf you like portugese buns, chorizo and many other products than this place is for you. This is one of Vaniers hidden gems. I go here all the time to buy real portugese style chorizo sausage, the type that is already cooked and is chunks of pork and spice.β
