They treat everyone with respect and yes the prices for dispensing fees are cheaper, but it would not matter if they were more expensive in my opinion because I never mind paying a little more for better service. “The Welland Zehr's usually has what I need and I have had only pleasant experiences with staff. During the winter I often purchase strawberries and they usually have Ontario greenhouse grown - so much better than the California berries. Still there are so many options to get exactly what you want. The staff in the bakery section are always helpful and polite when I opt to get the freshest just baked bread. The online shopping service for $3 weekdays and $5 weekends affords the opportunity to shop without ever entering the store. Fresh produce, a vast array of meats and seafood, and lots of weekly specials. It is also one of the very few stores with a staff member outside counting customers as they enter and then pausing when the guidelines have been met. Perfect!!”

“WOW! Speaking of rude........some of your clients are certainly that, judging by the comments made previously. I've also been a client for at least 10 years since moving to Welland, and have always been treated in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner. I was in recently, and the young male pharmacist that assisted me, was very helpful and attentive. I have absolutely no complaints. Perhaps the people who are not happy with the way they think they are treated, should be aware of how they themselves behave towards the staff! No one is perfect, and the stress caused by the present conditions ie Covid 19, seems to bring the nasties come to surface. I didn't give a five score because it's a rarity that anything is 100%, but as far as I'm concerned the service is pretty good!”

“After having it come up in conversation recently, I do realize I should've given this rating about 1-2 years ago when this happened.
But I was truthfully unsure if it was even worth it to leave this review.
I just got off work and decided to go to this store.
Masks were still a requirement. So, I was wearing one. I was tired, but looking to treat myself so I went to the hair dye section. I admit, they have many good options to choose from, but I did want to spend a reasonable amount and not go crazy. I was planning on bleaching to try and temporarily get rid of the natural ginger highlights in my hair. So, yes. I was in the aisle for about 10 minutes, I was also texting and sending photos of the different dyes and bleaches to one of my family members and asking for advice from said family member.

Then I hear an employee call for a security scan in the hair dye aisle. I look away from my phone and see an older lady with blondish whiteish hair giving me the dirtiest look. She looked so disgusted with me. Obviously, I work in retail, so I knew that was her assuming I was a thief. She walked past me I think once more and kept looking at me like I was scum.

I felt very uncomfortable. So I walked over the the makeup area and saw a lady working there. I told her I knew the security scan was about me and that the reason why I was taking so long was because I was having a hard time with what bleaches and dyes I should get.

I just want to say this about the makeup lady, she made me feel so much better. I truly appreciate how she helped me and actually treated me as a human being instead of being like the rude employee that assumed I was a thief because I was in the hair dye aisle for all of 10 minutes...

The 5 stars that I am giving this store are actually for that lady. And the other respectful employees. :)

To the rude employee, get some sense and instead of being disgruntled and assuming things, ask the person if they need help. Or just get a different job.
