I have always had a positive experience here. My only complaint is not being able to get a box that isn't on the top row. I am short and have to jump to see if anything is in the mailbox.

Whoever the lady is that drives truck # 18212193 should not work for USPS. She is lazy and does not deliver mail. It’s been 4 days and I have not received any mail , she drives right past my house (apartment complex) and does not stop to pickup or drop off mail from anyone here. Incredibly frustrating.

I have been having issues with our local USPS since 2007 which came to its first head about a decade ago when suddenly, we kept having our mail opened upon delivery. I never accused anyone specific, only complained that the mail was arriving opened and/or tampered with, with items missing. Our mail carrier was delivering opened (TORN OPEN) mail to the box and thought nothing of it. Even tried to blame it on the rain (I didn't know rain could tear open packaging tape like that. Really? Do you all think people are THAT stupid)?
Since complaining, our carrier has been extremely petty about delivery, but hey, nothing arrives opened anymore. Instead, he thuds boxes down that have fragile stickers on them (breaking the items inside), places other parcels on top of plants that are entirely easy to avoid (killing plants seemingly on purpose), and seems to give our house the lowest effort possible compared to our neighbors. He leaves our packages out in the rain, yet will deliver any of our neighbors packages to the safest and driest spot possible regardless of if someone has any sort of aggressive animal(s) or not. Yes, we have talked to our neighbors whom this mail carrier goes above and beyond for.
It has been a decade of biased behavior against us, and I am sick of it. Even the house sitter mentioned how this mail carrier is "really bad" and should be reported. Recently, one of the "fragile" packages arrived, and it looked like it had been used as a soccer ball between forklift drivers. The contents of the package had been packed and cushioned with extreme care (I warned the sender about how the USPS is in our area). Both of the items were destroyed despite the senders best efforts to keep the items safe. The box had also been very clearly labeled with "Fragile" stamps and stickers.
At least the sender will get insurance money for the contents of the package.
I have tried many times to call and complain, but no one ever answers the phone. Have I gone in and tried to catch the Post Master when they are in? Yep. Were they ever available? Nope, and no one was willing to make an appointment. Which is a shame. I really like the staff that work the counters. They are the only good thing about the local USPS that I can think of, aside from how lovely the building itself is.
The temp and volunteer mail carriers are also fantastic. Sadly, we do not have those in our neighborhood very often. If they hired on the temporary mail carriers full-time, they would probably have a much higher rating.
Sincerely, I wish there was an alternate that provides the same services as the USPS. Out here, our local USPS is - in general - trash.

Non stop gorgeous historical eye candy in this beautiful post office.
Great service. Efficient, at least by USPS standards.
Very often you can drive right up and get street parking and walk right in. They've taken care of many things right for me - domestic and international shipping, seasonal stamps. One thing they DONT do is ebay printing of prepaid shipping labels.
If they're not busy, some employees very happy to share the history of this building.
And I'll give a high five to my guy Lewis the best mail carrier ever :)

Mail person hasn't picked up my mail for three days, yet delivers mail to my neighbors...can't they see the red flag is up on my mailbox? The Astoria Post Office never answers the phone...NEVER!

I've lived here since 2015 in. I don't really have a lot of good things to say about the post office here in town. They're always messing up the mail in the apartments I live in. I can't express the amount of times that my packages have gone to my neighbors and my neighbors are not very honest so they keep it and it's a fight just to get my package back or try to get refund from Amazon. I am a single mom of three. I ordered some stuff offline for my kids for Christmas. They delivered it to my neighbor. And I think you know how that will go. Not good.

They lost my package and won't take accountability for it. Seeking legal consultation to see what my options are. This has gone on long enough. Edit: the supervisor and post master will not reach out nor do the care to. I have been to the post office numerous times this week, opened 2 tickets to investigate with corporate. Only to promptly have the tickets closed and set status as "resolved". No? Not resolved, my package is still missing. I did reach out to the company though and they are no longer using USPS to mail their packages. Small victory, will keep pursuing legally though, because this WILL stop or someone will lose their job, rightfully.
