Didn't deliver a package the last open day before Christmas because supposedly no frot door or driveway access when I know forsure their was clear access all day. Just plane laziness no care about getting their job done right.

I've lived here since 2015 in. I don't really have a lot of good things to say about the post office here in town. They're always messing up the mail in the apartments I live in. I can't express the amount of times that my packages have gone to my neighbors and my neighbors are not very honest so they keep it and it's a fight just to get my package back or try to get refund from Amazon. I am a single mom of three. I ordered some stuff offline for my kids for Christmas. They delivered it to my neighbor. And I think you know how that will go. Not good.

They lost my package and won't take accountability for it. Seeking legal consultation to see what my options are. This has gone on long enough. Edit: the supervisor and post master will not reach out nor do the care to. I have been to the post office numerous times this week, opened 2 tickets to investigate with corporate. Only to promptly have the tickets closed and set status as "resolved". No? Not resolved, my package is still missing. I did reach out to the company though and they are no longer using USPS to mail their packages. Small victory, will keep pursuing legally though, because this WILL stop or someone will lose their job, rightfully.

Friendly quick service in a cool old building. Can't get much simpler of a transaction.

I am very disappointed with Astoria Oregon post office. I have a p.o. box and they misplaced my package admitting they put the key in somebody else's box

Contacting the post office for assistance is nearly impossible. Package delivery is inconsistent at best on the weekends. When I asked why my packaged were not even loaded into the truck before they were dismissed as being oversized and undeliverable. Packages that were holding bits for a dremel tool. Maybe the size of a regular card envelope. I was essentially told that I ordered too many packages and the rest of the community ordered too many packages and therefore we should not expect to get our packages. My regular postal person has no issue just leaving them on my porch. They are WONDERFUL. Our weekend delivery service is horrible.

Almost every day our mail delivery person will put other people's mail in our box. Mail that isn't even addressed to this address. And the ones she puts in the box that does have this address, but addressed to someone who isn't here, she will continually put it back into our box even though we cross the persons name out and put it back into the box

My mail delivery was halted supposedly because access to the box was blocked. No notice, or warning was given alerting me as to why they they had stopped. I finally went to the post office to see what the problem was. After waiting in line for half an hour while the clerks work at a snails pace, the woman at the counter could tell me no more than "access blocked", which was not true. I then asked to speak to the Postmaster, who is NOTHING short of creep. The service that the current USPS provides these days is nothing short of pathetic. I actually delivered mail for several years, so I have a pretty good idea of how things used to be done. If access to a box was blocked on my route, a notice would be given so the the patron could make needed adjustments. At this point I hope that USPS is privatized, then maybe we can actually receive the services that we are be charged RIDICULOUS prices for.

They have a contract with Amazon and so far will not deliver packages bigger then our PO Box even after I've specified to leave them on the porch. So basically if I order Amazon I still have to go to the PO to pick up my delivery. And I can only pick them up on specific times on Saturday. I live out of town so I can't just run down to the post office. And I can't lift heavy packages hence my wanting to have them DELIVERED. They returned an important order saying it was undeliverable. WHY? No reason given. I'm home every day ?♀️. I reordered only to have it happen again. They have only answered their phone 2 times out of multiple calls every single day for 2 weeks. After reading all the reviews I can see that they STILL don't answer their phone even after 7 yrs. Lol. I agree with all the previous reviews.

Our mail person is fine, however, the two women I’ve interacted with at the main counter are not very friendly. Certainly aren’t warm. The hours aren’t the best and there’s no way to drop a package after hours. Easier to go to a post office in portland when we’re visiting family.

I have to say I am extremely disappointed in the postal service here today, Today I had a package delivered to me up here in Emerald heights, the mailman tossed the Box at my door! He did not set it down nicely, he tossed it at my door! I have a dry part right next to my door that does not get wet for packages. The mailman did not put the mail there instead he tossed my package in a puddle on the other side of the door. Most of your mail people working are amazing but the man you have today is extremely Unprofessional.

Ignore the salty 1 and 2 star reviews left because someone's vibrator didn't show up the day they were expecting it. This is a beautiful little post office and the employees are absurdly friendly. Feels like the kind of place that exists in a quaint little movie. I love visiting Astoria and have a PO Box there as I visit so much, and anytime I need to ship things or buy stamps the women at the counter are incredibly friendly. Come to Portland if you want to see what a unprovoked hostile USPS interaction looks like lol I'll take the Astoria USPS all day, every day.

While living in Astoria, this was our post office. We were in the area during the COVID pandemic and during that time, Yelp has counted me visiting 10 times. My visits were mostly dropping off packages (boxes and envelopes); once I needed my mail to be dated, and in addition to dropping off packages, I purchased tape. When COVID kicked off, social distancing was enforced. Though the line looked long, it was just the spacing in between the customers. I've never seen it snake around the post office or see it reach outside. Wait time varied. All depends on: the day of the week; time; customers and their errands; and employees working. Middle of the day during the work week seemed the quickest. One thing I didn't like about this post office is the parking provided. Only street parking! So if it gets busy you could be going around the block for a bit, or park further and walk. I also don't like parallel parking. It can be stressful since the front of the post office is on the main road going into downtown Astoria, so you know there's a possibility for a lot of vehicles coming this way. I've only had one incident where an employee's advice was very helpful. I came in to return a product, had it sealed up with the postage information and as the employee rang it up, she mentioned to us the cost of it which was basically the same price as the product (probably more, it was going international). Once I realized that, I decided not to send it off, because if I did, I'd still be losing money. Flat rate boxes I've sent to Hawaii reached the recipient in a timely manner if not sooner! Honestly, I was amazed with that. I thought those packages would've been delayed. One time, the street address on my package was a Hawaiian word, the lady looked at it and asked how to pronounce it. I did and we laughed. Started talking about all the unusual street names she'd seen. I've also sent out a few media mail and so far they did not get lost! Employees I've encountered were friendly or indifferent. Just Another day right?
