A agree with the review below CHECK YOUR RECIEPT - I was not going to make a review because mistakes happen but then I saw someone else mention the same thing happened to them.
I had grabbed some fruit from the sale bin a couple weeks ago (the bin of for old or deformed produce)… I mentioned to the gal ringing me up how cool that is that they don’t toss them. The items were supposed to be .75 each as they were on there last leg and needed to be used soon.
I figured I would make soup. Anyhow after all that got home and was charged full price for everything. I was like $10 extra. When I went back the next day (I called and no one answered about it) the same gal was there and she kind of acted like I was being an annoyance to ask for a price adjustment. I even reminded her of our conversation and brought back the produce so she could see. She kind of seemed to be questioning me. I know mistakes happen but I don’t think the gals there really have a close eye on things. And the one that helped me certainly didn’t come off as considerate about small amounts of money, like it wasn’t worth her time, but to some people it is and that isn’t good business for a “local” “community” market.
If you need something specific and shop here just be sure to check your receipt. I think market of choices bulk section is really amazing and the spice section at local acres is really incredible too, if you are looking for more unusual ingredients.

I decided to go check the store out one weekend, after not having been back in years. I was pretty disappointed with the lack of customer service and how crowded the set up was. No one greeted me when I came in and I was ignored by the staff the entire time I was in the store. I noticed price tags were missing on many items and I wasn't sure what fruits and veggies were organic, due to the lack of signs.
I ended up not buying anything and I doubt I will go back, as I was not impressed. It is a shame, because years ago the set up was much nicer and the employees were super helpful and friendly.

BEWARE: CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS.. In the last few weeks on several occasions when checking my receipts I found I was overcharged $2 to $6 at least six times.. The prices they have posted may not reflect what you are being charged. One time I purchased a bottle of fill yourself garlic powder and it was $3 the next time I filled up the same bottle with garlic powder and it was was $5 but the price of the garlic powder per pound each day was the same. Today I was charged a certain price per pound for broccoli but she actually never weighed the broccoli. Several times I said nothing. Two times I brought this to the cashiers attention and both times she looked frustrated and said, "Oh well that just happens the prices change and we don't change the signs." There was no apology nor an offer to refund me the difference of what was posted and what I paid. This lack of integrity at Locavore is alarming. I definitely won't shop there anymore and will take my business to the local farmers market,

We shop here almost every week rather than go to just summer farmers' markets. The prices are reasonable for organic items. We usually get several vegetables and fruits, local eggs, and often a Farmhouse pie. Being able to get lettuce and greens is almost like having your own garden. Their selections of cheese are great. You also feel good about supporting local farmers and producers. Staff get to know you and are great.Carolyn & Don

The best place to shop for groceries in Bend! Very well curated grocery store experience with the largest selection of local meats, eggs, milk, fruit, veggie and grain staples of any place in the NW. The new addition of the cleaning supply bulk bins is an awesome addition to any household who is dedicated to reducing single use plastics. Also special sections of the store I love is the expecting mother/ new baby section as Niki the founder is a lactation specialist and its a really great curated area for the expecting or new mom or gift for one. The selection of bulk teas and herbs, frozen local berries and fresh local pastries so good. Become a member and get a discount on every purchase and support local agriculture on a weekly basis by shopping at Locavore <3

This is a really amazing grocery store. They work super hard to support our local farmers and ranchers and bring truly excellent quality food to all of us here in Bend. I love the produce from Sungrounded, Boundless, Mahonia, Rainshadow, and others.I love the Herald tea selection, for those of you who are tea fans. The Hojicha is wonderful as well. Try it with a little coconut cream, tsp of unsweetened cocoa powder, and a dash of cinnamon.I love being able to get bulk soaps and cleaners. In general, I like the vibe of the people who work there. They care about quality food.I'm sure cost is an issue for many of you. Inflation sucks. But from time to time, you will find some of the organic veggies to be cheaper than the organic veggies in other stores.

When the farmers markets are closed, this is where we go for local and also some bulk foods. Locavore is more than a store, it's an important nonprofit organization making it possible for local farmers, ranchers, honeybee outfits to reach us customers. Big freezers full of lamb, beef, other meats from local ranches. Prices have gotten so high we can't afford local meat so often anymore, when we can it's great to have Locavore to stop by. Good selection of local-made gift items and food items. Pickles, soaps, farmers market types of things. Small selection of produce, typical high prices for local, nice to have it available. Customer service and friendliness of staff is hit-or-miss. Some people might be volunteers? They seem untrained or like they don't understand what customer service is about. My wife has a disability and was surprised by how dismissive they were when she needed help. That got me mad but she says they followed up well, once she complained, she's happy now so I am too. Nice to have a place for high quality bulk organic foods like nuts, quinoa, oils, good stuff from Hummingbird over in Eugene. However the prices aren't always great. Sometimes we pay twice as much compared to a similar item over at Natural Grocers. Unfortunately at Natural Grocers they don't have Oregon-local and they don't have real bulk foods either. They call it bulk but it is prepackaged. So, Locavore is the only place I know of in Central Oregon with this level of high quality bulk foods.

The best tasting food in town and I get my laundry detergent there too. I've heard that for every dollar spent on local produce, half of it stays in the area unlike other stores (shall not be named).
