A Dream Come True – The Perfect LOTR Wedding!

We had our wedding at Lavender Owl Farm, and we truly could not have asked for a more magical experience. From the beginning, Lesley and Melissa went above and beyond to make our wedding everything we dreamed of—and more.

Our theme was The Lord of the Rings, and Lesley (the owner and officiant) created the most beautiful and heartfelt ceremony, filled with meaningful Tolkien references and touches of nerd culture that made it feel personal, unique, and unforgettable.

The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking. Surrounded by nature, every corner feels alive with beauty. You can see how everything was built with respect and love for the land, blending harmoniously with the trees and natural landscape. It’s not only stunning—it’s also very accessible and thoughtfully designed.

They also took care of the decor, setup, and all venue services, which allowed us to relax and truly enjoy the day. The bridal suite was cozy, elegant, and comfortable—perfect for preparing and spending quiet moments before the ceremony.

Everything flowed perfectly, every detail was handled with care, and the result was even better than we ever imagined. Lavender Owl Farm didn’t just host our wedding—they brought our fantasy to life.

Christie and John the owners, were amazing. Communication was exceptional and responses very prompt. There wasn't a bunch of hidden fees, everything was clear and up front. Preferred vendors were amazing. And Jocelyn the coordinator is truly one a kind. We cannot say enough about her. “Abernethy center was one of the best choices we made in the wedding planning process! Abigail’s garden is such a gorgeous, timeless and cozy outdoor venue that was beautifully captured in our photos and hearts! They had packages that made our lives so much easier with included catering and set-up, were always happy to help answer the million questions I peppered them with, and went above and beyond our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious and guests raved about it for days after! We opted to get the day-of coordination to ease our minds, and Josie was absolutely phenomenal and made our wedding seamless. Josie was there to answer questions, help make the space look gorgeous, coordinate with the vendors and allow us to be able to focus on enjoying the day. I can’t imagine not having Josie on the day as she was so incredible.”

“I came here as a guest to a wedding recently. It was a bit of a winding drive and might take you some time of you are coming from Portland.
The wedding was partially outdoor and partially in a covered pavilion. The grounds were beautiful cared for and a few roses were still in bloom (mid September) adding natural decoration to the event.
The bathrooms are in the building that is for club members, so depending on the length of the event, you may be going back and forth quite a bit. One of our party was in a wheelchair and I did note it was extra tricky for her. If you use a walker or wheels, I saw more stairs than ramps.
Another note about the bathrooms as pertains to ladies: the main floor bathroom is pretty tight space with only four stalls. Would be difficult if you had a wheelchair and just gets crowded with such a large event.
The event was catered and the wedding coordinator and staff were really attentive and organized. The event itself ran very smoothly and I was impressed at how nice the whole event was. Not sure if they are a package deal with the club, but I would assume so.
The food was nice, nothing spectacular... But nice and presented well. Food came out as individual plates in courses. The servers worked so hard and were so professional.
There was ample parking that was set aside for the special event. It was nice how the club was very separate from the wedding and only accessing the bathroom overlapped into the club itself. I think the event was about 200 people, and that seemed a good size for the space.”

“My husband and I got married here August 3. I would give a million stars if I could. Saint Irene's was the perfect venue for our wedding. It was not too small and not too big, beautiful inside and beautiful outside, had amazing food the guests have been raving about, and the employees radiate a warmth, compassion, and professionalism I continue to be floored by. I primarily worked with Ella and her grace and attentiveness with my many many emails was astounding. I mean that with complete sincerity. If you are looking for a small to medium sized wedding operated by the most caring staff ever, book at Saint Irene's and you will not regret it. They ensured everything was exactly what we wanted and went smoothly from start to finish. The rest of the staff I met the night of the wedding were also delightful- truly kind, warm, and genuine- which always makes everything better. And they were excellent at their jobs. Cannot recommend this venue enough.”

“I go to the Oregon City Elks Lodge to play bingo on Wednesday evenings. (Disclosure: I am not a member) I know they are a fraternal organization, in which you have to pay yearly membership fees. That membership allows you to go to any Elks Lodge. There are some that have bowling alleys, swimming pools, little restaurants/bars, fun themed event nights/fundraisers, along with many other things! They do a lot of charity work. Different lodges have different amenities and events. Bingo at the Oregon City Lodge, specifically, is open to the general public (21+) and is a lot of fun!”

“It’s a wonderful setting. The tasting room/lodge is rustic and refined. Lots of helpful staff around. I stopped in for a tasting on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I had bread and cheese plate that was satisfying but tasted no other food. Don’t skip the whites—their Sauvignon Blanc is especially floral. All the wines were good. Their events calendar looks pretty interesting.”

“Driving down the highway to check out "Historic AURORA," we caught a glimpse of the beautiful mini-rock waterfall at the Aurora "Colony" Vineyards & Restaurant! A swift U-Turn took us into a Palate's Paradise! ISSAC, our Waiter, a new hire out of Ashland, turned out to be a MAGNIFICENT delight! Dave, the Chef, is an EXTRAORDINARY Artist at creatinrg delightful taste combinations in his dishes! my daughter and I shared the Grilled Chicken Salad with watermelon hazelnuts, and topped with feta cheese (or on the side), Artichoke Dip with toasted mini-French bread, and an order [made with Fresh Real Potato] Fries served with a delicious Aioli sauce! #DaveIsTHEBestChef

“Nice place and nice staff. Theres a decent gym i used several times, warm pool, and other common facilities. The breakfast is excellent for sure but I also had quality fish n chips for dinner so i give the restaurant high grade too.”

“This was such an amazing experience to be up so close to a hot air balloon! They have golf carts that escort people that need a ride, with a donation. They have so many people out helping stay organized, from parking, to the front entrance admittance. The park was clean and so were the restrooms. We had a lovely time! It was worth seeing the sunrise!”
