“The perfect place to get lost in and spend time perusing stationary and manga. There is lots to see! Make sure to keep an eye on little ones as there are items everywhere. The manga section is extensive; the Japanese stationary is unique.”
“This was a really cute art collective I stumbled upon on the way to lunch! It reminded me of similar places in Asheville, NC. Sadly they don’t have what I collect at the moment (bats), but now that they’re on my radar, I’ll be back later in the year. I did end up buying a half priced candle that smells wonderful. “Hey, there’s this cool jewelry and gift shop on the second floor of the mall called Golden Horn Jewelry & Gifts. The owner is super friendly and knows everything about the jewelry in the store. The prices are really affordable, and they have so many unique pieces to choose from. I couldn’t decide between a ring and a necklace, but I ended up getting a necklace with a scorpion on it (it was only $14). You should definitely check it out if you’re ever at the mall or nearby and looking for some unique jewelry for yourself or a gift for someone else.”

It’s a great place to find a lil something fun, practical, or a mix of the two. I mostly get gifts for others here, but sometimes I also treat myself. They’ve got shirts, decor, stationary, wrapping paper, plushies, toys, socks, kitchen gadgets, books, jewelry, and more. It’s likely they’ll have at least one thing you or someone you know really likes. At the very least, it’s a fun browse!”

You can listen to all the local artists before you buy any records and there are a few worth exploring. In addition, the staff gave me some really good advice about activities in and around Portland. Made Here is the kind of store you bring out of town guests to and then end up shopping for yourself. It feels like the epitome of the Pacific Northwest. Thoughtful, locally made, quality driven, rooted in place, and built on real human connection.
What stands out most is not just the product selection, but the storytelling. Every item has context. You learn who made it, why it exists, where the materials come from, and what inspired it. “I'm from the southeast born and raised and currently traveling the western United States for the first time. Was looking to get some local souvenirs and had some time to kill before my Airbnb check-in, so I stopped by this shop. They have a huge collection of local and Portland-themed gifts, snacks, jams/jellies/honey, coffee, clothing, toiletries, trinkets etc. etc. Also the staff were super friendly and helpful (Lisa was the name of one employee, I think - sorry if I got that wrong! I didn't catch the name of the guy who was working the register but he was great too!)
