“Super cool little shop, very Portland. All kinds of stuff for visitors as well as locals. I think the huge draw here is the massive selection of very unique stickers and patches. This was my favorite gift shop on Mississippi Ave, such a cool selection. Highly recommend!”
“Love this little place inside Cargo! There always seems to be something new in stock; it makes it hard not to buy at least one new item everytime I pop in. They have the best selection of washi tapes from Japan too...I've already lost count of the number of tapes I've gotten here. My latest purchases also include some adorable stationery, rubber stamps, and a Russian vintage pin. If you appreciate cute, delightful, interesting knickknacks you're bound to find some treasures here.”
“Thank you Nina for helping my partner and I find incredible holiday gifts for our family members. The store is full of all the greatest trinkets and softest cashmere scarfs. Oh, and she’s got an assortment of Studio Ghibli goodies!”
“WOO is full of magic! I’m so happy it’s part of the neighborhood. Lauren the owner is a gem of a human and has packed this shop with everything you could need for your spiritual and/or witchy ventures. My go to place for cute cards, fairly priced crystals, books, gifts etc…and sometimes I just pop in if I’m looking for a little inspiration. Also being a queer Asian biz owner myself, I love supporting a BIPOC owned shop! ✨?✨”
“Stopped by here on Westend Wednesday, however I have run past this store numerous times (it just isn't open at 6a morning). I even won a neat print by participation in the spin wheelie activity! Super friendly team. Lots of neat giftable things for the holidays ranging from candles, prints, magnets, etc. Def worth checking out!”
“Such a cute store with cat-themed everything! I always stop by to get gifts for my creature and cat loving friends. They have cat-themed artwork, decor, cat spoons, plant holders, oven mitts, toys, books, stickers and everything else in between. And the small store looks like a fantasy land when you walk in.”

133 SW 2nd Ave, Portland“This place is awesome, a perfect nerdy nest for anyone interested in Japanese pop culture and other similar fun things. As soon as I saw the exterior, my mood immediately lifted. My friend recommended it to me when I was having a tough day and ended up buying some holiday gifts and cute little things like stickers here. They have a lot to choose from, variety of prices (you can either come out barely spending anything to getting some expensive high quality merchandise) and the setup of the store is just very lovely to look at. The store owner was really nice and inclusive, you can tell they are passionate about what they do. I want to come back and bring everyone I know with similar interests.”
“Very charming store. Staff is super knowledgeable on product. Beautiful inventory. Lovely complimentary gift wrap. Feels like you are in someone's home. They've been there over 2½ decades.”
“Such a cute store with fun little items for everybody. My partner bought me a necklace from there and when it broke on the first ware they were so nice and replaced it for me without question. Great place, friendly people. Definitely check it out if you’re in portland!”
“After hours of desperately searching for a particular bag that was sold out everywhere, I came across Ruby Press’s website. I found the color I wanted (which felt like a small miracle), and quickly checked Google Maps to ensure the legitimacy of the storefront. I placed my order, and my bag arrived in perfect condition 3 days later. As a Hawai’i resident, that shipping time is faster than Amazon Prime! There was also a handwritten note enclosed with my purchase, thanking me for shopping small. Personal touches are what set these kind of shops apart from major retailers and supergiants like Amazon, and make me feel like the money I’m spending goes to real people who are making their own dreams a reality. Thanks Ruby Press! I’ll be sure to stop by in person if I am ever in town — until then, I’ll see you online.”
“Such cute local art and gifts. I agree with the other review that you don't need to go to Target. My favorite items I got were the local spicy chili oil that I discovered earlier at the Portland Bazaar and the rainbow geode soaps from a local creator”
“Wild Mountain Wax Co. is truly a treasure, especially knowing that the owner, Heather is the dedicated candle maker behind the scents and pours. Every time I walk in, I'm surrounded by PNW vibes and artistry, where the scents of nature mingle with the creations of local talent. Knowing that I'm not just purchasing a candle, but a piece of Heather's passion and creativity, makes the experience even more special. It's more than a shop; it's a sanctuary of local talent and mindful craftsmanship, offering nontoxic candles that bring warmth and joy to any space.”
“I love this shop. . . one slightly annoying caveat. . . they should update their website to say they are closed on Sunday. I literally planned my afternoon and was heading there as a treat to myself and got there to see the closed for inventory. Luckily caught the streetcar I was just on to get back home to avoid having to wait for next transit option. I totally get they need to close on Sundays (but their website says they are open). . .just a detail. Otherwise, this is a fantastic place to explore with all sorts of cool stuff and really nice staff.”
“Such beautiful pieces in here! I found the most amazing pair of earrings for sale and I get compliments on them all the time! The humans who work here are always so helpful and kind!”

808 SW 10th Ave, Portland“IMMEDIATE disclosure. If anyone would like to buy me cute gifts or cards, this place is loaded with them. I've followed Crafty Wonderland on Instagram since they opened. And yet I've never been. Until today. I probably saved quite a bit of money by doing that too!! The items they sell are made by small local artists and businesses, so they're not cheap. They're worth buying and supporting our local community. Service was as great as everything else was. We had a good laugh as we were checking out. I LOVE this place and definitely will return.”
“I’m loving this shop! Beautifully adorned and stocked with plants, books, oracle/tarot decks, handcrafted goodies, jewelry, locally-made, and so much more. I enjoyed meeting and talking with the owner, she clearly loves her shop so much, she clearly pours her soul into finding the best stuff.I went with a friend to the new moon event they had in the event space connected to the storefront. There were fabulous vendors, including a table where you could create your own manifestation jar! Yummy food and the tarot reader was incredible! Can’t wait to go back next month!Highly recommend!”
“Wonderful bookstore with lots of titles related to the Japanese culture including Manga and Anime. Besides the books you'll find merchandise like vento boxes, chopsticks, plush figures, plates and more based on Ghibli Studios movies.”

811 NW 23rd Ave, Portland“I love how knowledgeable the staff are about the origins of their products. It adds a professionalism to the selling of oddities that makes it possible for everyday people to appreciate the interesting collections they have. Their jewelry selection is my favorite. Not cheap though, it will have to be a forever prized piece if you get jewelry from here. Also carnivorous plants!”
“Anything you'd ever need for beading is at this store...everything. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and you even get a discount at a certain price point. Hard to go in to just get one thing and not end up walking out with a bag full of treasures you didn't realize you needed!”
“A thoughtfully curated, high quality collection of cookbooks, journals, calendars, jewelry, garland, candles, ornaments, clothing, toys, wallets, candles, body balms, slippers, flasks, radios, and a whole lot more. The staff are mellow and never pushy. Gift wrapping is free for jewelry purchases.”
“Gone West is the kind of place where you always feel welcome and appreciated as a customer. Each time I’m in, I always find the cutest gifts and things to add to my home. It’s such a unique spot and I’m proud to have it in our city. Rue, the resident shop dog, also excels in customer service. :)”
“I love this shop! Everyone working there is very nice and knowledgeable. and they always have a great selection of smart, unique gifts from area makers and artisans. They really do a marvelous job of celebrating the creative hub that is Portland.”
“Great combination of vintage, natural, & upcycled merchandise. Good spot for last minute unique gifts. Nice to see small businesses supporting local artisans coming to the troubled Lloyd Mall.”
“This is a great place to shop for gifts from different countries as the name of the shop suggests. They have a good collection of gift items at reasonable price. The shop attendant was nice and helpful. The shop doesn’t have a good selection for people looking for items from Portland. The restrooms are in the mall area and plenty of parking for people visiting the mall. The shop is located at the first floor of the mall.”
“Great Experience! Staff was super nice and helpful. I went in and bought two mini cacti that were well priced. They have a wide variety of items that include stickers, house plants, maps, planners, pottery, and much more. They are good as gifts or personal home decor. Would go there again. Couldn’t have been happier!”
“Haven't shopped on Hawthorne for a bit and just found this gem. The handmade necklaces in the window caught my eye, on our way to breakfast. Had to stop in and take a look on the way back to the car. Beside the delightful owner's authentic kindness, who hand makes his items, this was an easy sale. Not only that, I'll be back for holiday and birthday and special occasion gifts. This place has a great vibe, very nice assortment of lovely Tibetan fare, highly recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“TLE is such a cute store and gives one all the Portland feels no matter how big or small the store is or where its located . Over the years I have made so many purchases from here and they still look cute displayed at various corners of my house . They also make for great gifts .”
“Interesting little shop in a cool neighborhood. They have lots of tiny bottles of perfume to test out. It’s pretty cool, I would say to stop by if you’re in the area but not for a whole trip.”
“We love this shop so much. It's our go-to stop for special gifts for people we love. I - and my kids - can always find great gifts. I love that inclusivity is a mainstay of the brand.”
