“I've been working with BAFS for about 6 months now and even when I was still using they showed me love until I learned to love myself again! I've been living at the empire Blvd apartment stabilization unit for a week today and I feel safe, motivated, and excited for life everyone is treated fairly and they recognize treatment being very different circumstances for everyone and are willing to do whatever is needed as long as you want to be sober they will help. I can't say enough how much I appreciate BAFS family for the love and support they have given me. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK.....!!!! ?”

“I remember coming to this place when I was 16 years old. I was terrified and dissociated from the situation that led me to come here. The staff were the kindest people I ever met. At the time me and my mom were living in the car and my mom didn’t have shoes. She was embarrassed but the lady welcoming us smiled and reassured my mom that they are here to help no matter what situation u are in and no matter what u looked like. I remember this guy that worked there and he had classes. He was so kind to me. He gave me a hand made quilt and a knitted teddy bear. I’m 19 now but when I think about the trauma I went through I remember that wonderful memory of kindness. They believe me and made me feel validated in ways California police could never.

Thank you so much for helping me when me and my family were in distress. This place and the people who showed me genuine compassion will stay rooted in my heart forever.”

“safe clean environment, good security, it's there what u need it for, shelters in smaller towns r usually cleaner & safer then big cities. u do have to work to stay and inevitably they may not let u or work with u to keep ur housing. the advocates help how they can but ultimately they want u to become independent (need daycare). I am really glad this is here and hope people will continue to support much needed services like this one. Thank you.”

“This shelter actually enforces their rules and only ask for what is necessary for the mission to keep running. The picture below is for this month's Mission needs.”
