“Update 11/26/23: the store seems to have stopped this policy, so I’m updating my review.Employees at the store mark almost every sewn-in clothing tag, and the bottoms of bigger products, with letters in permanent marker. They say this is to indicate the price of items in Roman numerals so people can’t switch out tags. However, this greatly reduces the likelihood a product will continue in the circular economy. This isn’t an eco-friendly decision at all and actually could be reducing sales since people won’t easily be able to re-gift or re-sale items once done with them. Items look of lower quality with this practice and I could see this deter if people from wanting to use them. This needs rethought, as so much of what’s donated to goodwill already doesn’t get bought.”

“This is the best resale/donation center store I've ever shopped in the Portland area! Great prices and selection of items, especially in the furniture selection!”

“I have been shopping at PACS since my now adult kids were babies. The whole reason my family was able to dress as well as we were, is because of this store. They often have food or flowers they give out to customers when you show up.There are 2 sides. One side has clothing, blankets, purses, wallets, socks, ties, bedding, cards, books, shoes, slippers...and sometimes yarn, and other craft hobby oriented supplies. The other side has patio/indoor/office furniture, kitchen supplies, framed pictures, household, mugs, baskets, electronics, office supplies, collectables, toys...and most anything you can think of. They don't always have what I'm looking for, but I know if I come back in a few days, whatever that is will be there. The prices are very reasonable, with a sliding scale 4 color tag system that includes "full price", "25% off", "50% off", ending with .25 cents. The colors change to their "next step" twice a month, and there are always new items available daily. When I would take my small children with me to the shop, I would pay them one penny per hanger they found in the store. They would scour the racks for empty hangers, and that ended up helping the volunteers who run the stores. When my girls were old enough (Jr. High age) I let them become volunteers and they learned some basic skills that have helped them eventually land paying jobs. The stores are run mostly by volunteers, and they are always looking for more help. They do great letters of reference, and have helped my kids get their very first job. There is a medical side for people who don't have healthcare readily available, but I am not as familiar with that service. All in all my family and I have benefited so much from this store. It's in my top 3 favorite thrift stores, and would highly recommend it to anyone who has a limited clothing budget like we do.A tip.....Their cart supply doesn't usually allow for each person to use one. If you need one, I usually wait at the front of the line where people check out, and when someone is done using theirs, I take it off their hands. They will also take any paper or plastic bags you don't need, as they use them when customers check out.”

“I like this place. I was sending a pic of a cool mirror to my friend, and my friend asked me if the owner of rerun was following me around to see if I was stealing, and when I zoomed in on the mirror pic she was literally right behind me watching me lol.”

“One of the last affordable thrift shops in Portland! I needed a last minute Halloween costume, so I stopped in to Deseret, and they had the goods! In fact I saw many spirit halloweeen costumes on their rack still in the package for $10! Thanks again Deseret!”

“The Salvation Army in Gresham is a special place. From groups for women, activities for youth, a weekly dinner, and compassionate services for those in need in their community, they are truly making a difference. It's a great place to volunteer and get connected!”

“Best Little Thrift Store ...all volunteers operate the store with a smile. All items are donated and in great condition...from new to vintage and the BEST part is the proceeds help people who struggle with addiction.”

“I've been coming to this store for many years! I just love this place! Great prices, awesome selection and amazing staff! I'd like to recognize one particular staff member that stands out. Her name is Allie and she can be found most days in the book room sorting out books and adding to the seldom empty bookshelves. Since she started working there the book department has become so much easier to navigate! Also, she really takes pride in her work and takes interest in the customers. She even asked me my name and asked me what kind of books I like! When I come so when I visit, she can point me in the right direction. I buy a lot of books from PACS because I sell books for a living. In the past, I would shop at PACS about twice a month. Now I'm there nearly every day directly because its so much better because of her energy there! Keep up the amazing work! I appreciate you!”

“Great place that is a service to the community--both those who have good, used building materials, tools, appliances, bath fixtures, and furniture to donate, and those who can use them.”

“I came into the store not knowing what I needed. I had a cheap soundbar at home and wanted to upgrade to a surround sound system. My only requirement was the system had to be affordable. Not only did they exceed my expectations, but they were knowledgeable, and the system came in way under the budget I had in mind. I’m thrilled with my purchase. Thank you. I’ll be back.”

“All right let me give you a real review as someone could pretty much purchases 95% of our clothes from thrift stores. Thrifting is about the deal lol If you're going to a thrift store then you're looking for super clean bougieness, that's going to reflect itself in the price.( I'm sure we've all been to Goodwill and pay $13 for a shirt with a stain on it... )You're not going to do that here. It's called better bargains because that's what you're getting; bargains. Their menswear section is fantastic, I'm always coming here for hoodies and blazers. Their kids section is decent, also I have found brand new shoes here more than once. They have a decent book section, accessories like blow dryers, curling irons etc and a really cool selection of vintage glassware. The staff is always nice and they mostly keep those themselves so you can fully commit to the thrift lol I LOVE THIS STOREHAPPY SEARCHING”

“I donate to this location 2-3 times a month on average. They have a streamlined donation area, courteous staff, and they accept all kinds of items that the smaller charities do not. (Don’t forget your deduction receipt and keep a detailed list of your donations for tax purposes)”

“Like most other goodwills except they have a slight problem with theft here. Other than that you can find quite a bit of stuff packed into this location compared to some others.”

“Treasure hunting like old times, instead of same overstock I saw at the last store. Thats not even the best part. I was the last one in the store because of a disability that they were unaware of. I gave it my all to get to the cash register, but still didn't make it until a few minutes after closing. The cashier, manager and security guard had the kindest attitude, as they helped me check out. It was only after I paid that I let on that I just had spine surgery and would need to make multiple trips to carry my purchases. The manager instead offered to carry all of it to my car for me with not even an eye roll, as the sweet cashier gave me another have a good night and the security guard walked us both out with the a muchly needed empathetic disposition. Every one of them had every right to make me feel like an a** for keeping them there after they closed, instead they chose sincere integrity. I hope they inspire others to find the same within, I know they did me.”
