“love seeing a local business with such a large collection of supplies! the staff went above and beyond helping me find what I was looking for while creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere! highly recommend”
“The staff here is always super sweet - The last time I visited, the person at the register overheard my friend and I talking about Quagsire. They asked if we were fans and went to the back to bring out a Quagsire plush that wasn’t on display yet. This made my day and I really appreciate the staff here always going the extra mile :D cutest selection of trinkets and collectibles eva!!”
“I have gone here for last 26 years. Always holds up in quality and service. It’s definitely worth the trip to multnomah village. Nice selection of legos, play mobile, trains, dolls, it feels good being in here and kid friendly”
“We love Hammer & Jacks! We adore Jillian. She has been a huge part of our lives ever since she welcomed us in for a new parent support group back in 2018. Not only was her vision of becoming a community hub and staple something that I could get behind as a FTM but over the years all of her support in helping to get my littles through their developmental milestones with thoughtful toy and activity recommendations have been invaluable! She also was LIFESAVER during the pandemic, doing toy and balloon deliveries and truly bringing love and light into our home. But since the new location opened with all the fun activities (our favorites being Toddler Art and Books & Bubbles) and playscape, our littlest human has grown to wake up Wednesday mornings to ask for "toy store & bagels"-- his idea of the perfect day.If you are looking for a wealth of knowledge on toy recommendations and fun ways to reimagine play... shop local and stop in and visit Hammer & Jacks!”
“Justin (the owner) is the man. Very happy this is my LCS. Most of my good cards in my collection are thanks to this shop. Very easy to work with, and have a good selection. Would recommend this shop for whatever level of collecting your in.”
“Great selection, nice staff, and easy access from the main road. Stop in and get some Legos. My wife loves to build the kits so we stop in every few months to get more. I'd rather just buy the finished sets they sell as well. They have a ton of bits and peices if you just need peices to build anything you want.”
“As a bookworm hailing from the UK, stepping into a Barnes & Noble during my American visit was an experience I'd anticipated. While I ultimately didn't make a purchase, the visit itself was a delightful immersion into a different kind of bookstore culture.
The first thing that struck me was the sheer scale. Compared to many of our high street bookshops, Barnes & Noble felt expansive, with broad aisles and towering shelves that seemed to stretch into the literary heavens. The layout was intuitive, with clear signage guiding me through genres, and dedicated sections for new releases and bestsellers were prominently displayed, making it easy to see what was currently capturing American readers' attention.
What truly set it apart for me was the atmosphere. It wasn't just a place to buy books; it felt like a community hub. The comfortable seating areas, complete with armchairs and small tables, invited lingering. The integrated Starbucks café, a common feature I’ve heard about but rarely encountered in UK bookstores, added to this sense of a welcoming retreat. People were genuinely settling in, reading, working, or quietly chatting over coffee – a far cry from the often hurried pace of UK retail.
I spent a good hour just Browse, admiring the vast selection, and appreciating the unhurried vibe. The children's section was particularly impressive, vibrant and engaging, with plenty of space for little ones to explore. While I left empty-handed, my decision was more about luggage constraints for my flight back to the UK than a lack of tempting titles. The visit was a pleasant cultural observation, showcasing a relaxed, inviting approach to bookselling that felt uniquely American. It was a worthwhile pilgrimage, even without a new book to show for it.”
“We went in and saw a cute Axolotl Zombie. It had an eyeball shirt on. Asked Droux about availability, and they went through the trouble of giving us the display shirt. Later Droux sold us the display so that we did not have to wait in line. Thank you Droux!”
“I would give 10 stars if I could. Excellent Customer Service and the selection is like no other toy store. Will definitely shop here again. If only every store and store owner could be this good. I love my Nano Neons! Thank you!”
“Lots of candies, sodas and silly knick knacks. Has various vintage devices like the photo booth and fortune teller. Gives off a retro futurism vibe. Stop by if you ever see it.”
“Wow, we are so thrilled with our new play structure! Dave was so helpful designing an amazingly fun and unique structure in our tight space. His son, Ben, installed everything in a few days and was able to integrate it with an existing patio so the kids can access it from multiple directions. My girls couldn’t be happier and we have many years of fun memories to make. Thank you!”
“This is one of my favorite stores in the mall. Never had customer service like Serenity's. She was kind and knowledgeable on Pusheen which I love love love. She was super helpful and helped us out greatly!”

“Attended the Trailblazers holiday party the other night and OMSI didn't disappoint. The live animal exhibit was great. Although the little turtle said he wanted to come home with me,I had to turn him down.”
“Beanstalk has some frustratingly limited hours, making it difficult to patronize on the regular (especially during the work week!), but when you do manage to get in the door, there's some fantastic treasures to be found here. Although it is primarily a consignment children's clothing store, you'll also find no shortage of wonderful, analog toys to plant the seeds of imagination in your little ones, in the hope that they'll sprout into clever, intelligent, fully-functioning, not-screen-addicted adults! This must be a conscious choice, because I could find nary an electronic device anywhere in the shop! Big kudos from me on that point alone! As for the clothing, let's just say, you're spoilt for choice. While some of the items are a little on the pricier side than I would like for a consignment shop, the quality of the clothing here is impeccable: clean, well-organized, and a healthy variety of sizes and styles. Everything you could need for any age, from newborn and toddler, up through the early grade school years: shirts, pants, dresses, hats, coats, shoes (TONS of shoes!), costumes, and all sorts of accessories! There's also a small selection of baby stuff in the back, including cribs, swings, and a host of different devices that I have no clue as to their function, but will assuredly be learning about them in the coming months (my wife is due next month)! In the last year, I have come to learn that shopping for a new child sucks, mostly because there is a dearth of places that have any quantity of clothing and accessories, outside of the big box stores, which I would prefer not to frequent, if possible. Thankfully, Beanstalk is here to pick up the slack, but you DO have to make an effort to get here during operating hours, particularly if you work during the week: Saturday (from 10am to 5pm) is your only real available option.”
“Great selection of high quality kid stuff. The owner and staff are awesome to talk to. I look forward to doing all of my kid shopping for holidays here, as this will be the year that I am sticking to my plan to shop only local and second hand for the holidays.”
“Awesome little store. More Pop Funko’s than you could ever need and a bunch of other cool trinkets. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and I got a good deal on a pretty rare collectible. Thanks guys!”
“Super happy with the lightsaber! Ordered the Darth Bane and they sent it with a bunch of other little gifts in the box that I am very appreciative of! Took about 5 weeks to come in, but that was right on the early end of the ETA of building and shipping. The only thing is it didn’t come in a hard case light some other brands, but being a curved hilt I know it wouldn’t fit in the case the best. Overall I am extremely happy and would highly recommend!!!”
“Very diverse and varied toy, and games store. Very broad appeal to collectors and casual hobbyists. Also extensive collection of multiple forms and types of interactive games and activities.”
“I had a great customer service experience here today. I called with some questions about a particular comic book and the attendant answered all my questions and even took the time to search up release dates. Great job Thank you”
“Always love going here it may be at a higher price, but you are supporting local businesses. Please support this toy store we were once a kid, and let's keep this store open forever.”
“Really neat place for all sorts of different collectors.
I’m thankful to have a place like this in the Portland area that is actually authentic and isn’t up charging.
The workers are always helpful and the vibe is very chill, it doesn’t feel overbearing or intimidating.”
“Drove up from Lebanon. Worth the drive. I traded some vintage Star Wars stuff for store credit. EXCELLENT selection of vintage toys/collectibles. Will definitely be coming back on a regular basis to see what they have.”

“Located in downtown, its street parking. Staff welcomed us immediately and helped us with any questions asked. They have a good selection of shoes and clothing, love that Portland is tax free!”
“The people who work here are absolutely amazing! Went in the other nite and the lady had been robbed and store was blocked off her first concern was the customers and getting everything safe first and foremost this lady need a raise!!!”
“I’ve been consigning and purchasing at the children’s consignment store for several years now. They offer fair prices when consigning and their inventory is well stocked and quality. I went in yesterday to consign my children’s clothing and popped over to their new women’s boutique. What a delightful experience. They have nothing but quality clothing and accessories and the styles were on trend. I don’t usually buy myself things but I couldn’t help myself. I can’t wait to go back!”
