Salishack Tavern
6725 Gleneden Beach Loop, Gleneden BeachI really wasn't expecting much when I stepped into Salishack. From the outside, it had all the hallmarks of a dive bar. To be fair, with the exception of good lighting, the interior did, too. Nevertheless, expectations were bucked almost immediately with the friendly, welcoming nature of the bartender, who did not begrudge the new face in the locals' hangout. I was given good, prompt service, and a meal that was way better than it had any business being, considering the situation (8pm on a Tuesday night). Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised they were still serving hot food. So the flavorful, generous, and innovative presentation of their teriyaki chicken bowl was a wonderful departure from my grin-and-bear-it expectations.
