The Gold Beach Visitor's Center is a great and informative center right on the beach. It is a very nice visitor center with friendly, helpful, and happy staff who provide good information, maps, and pamphlets about the town, local area, history, and points of interest all the way up the coast. It is one of the most informative visitor centers. The location is convenient with a roomy parking lot. It is a good spot to regroup, take in the view, have a picnic, and walk out to the beach. A short, paved trail leads to a beautiful beach and ocean view, accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, with sand the rest of the way. Visitors and dogs enjoy the beach. The center has restrooms available. However, their cleanliness and maintenance can be bad, with issues like broken locks and unsanitary conditions left for a while. Sometimes the bathrooms are locked. Staff are responsive to complaints, cleaning issues when notified. The center is closed on Sundays. While not as well marked as it could be, it is worth searching for and visitors plan to return.
