“When I went there the fair wasn’t going on. It was a parking lot type deal with bathrooms in the middle they were a little scary. But my girlfriend and I were traveling from Northern California just checking places out and we slept there for the night. Met this nice guy who had a unique pet a turkey. He said he was camping in some woods and this turkey was just around an kept following him everywhere he went and when he packed up to leave the big turkey just stood there he got in his vehicle and started to go an the turkey was following him. He stopped got out let the turkey in the car and they been together ever since. I felt that jiggly colored thing on the turkeys neck an it was soft and not creepy at all. The turkey was nice. ? in the end I only have good things to say about gold beach. I took a beautiful photo here check it out. Lots of love Chris”
“I appreciate that there is an info center with nice, helpful folks. The parking lot is roomy and a convenient spot to get regrouped, take in the view, have a picnic, and walk out to the beach. It's nice to have restrooms available for the folks visiting or passing through; however, the last few times I've tried to use them, the cleanliness and maintenance were bad. For example, the cleaner of the two stalls, the lock didn't work, and the larger stall that did have a working lock, someone had taken a huge dump (no other way to say it) and either missed the toilet or it overflowed because there was a huge disgusting pile of it hanging on the side of the bowl. It was dried out, which tells me it had been left like that for quite a while. I just about lost my breakfast and did not use either of them. I know it's a tough job keeping these public places clean. I hope you get the help and funding you need to hopefully improve the situation with these facilities. To their credit, once I let them know about it, it was cleaned up when I checked back a couple hours later. Thank you to whoever had the misfortune to have to do that. I'm sorry you have to deal with messes like that, but you are MUCH appreciated!”
