“I'm going to blame the issue I had on my age. I'm elderly and anything technical will sometimes throw me off my game. I've been with this credit union since 1990, when it was known as Telco. I never used their regular app. I use their website to do all my banking, pay bills, etc. I also had their "card guard" ... which was an app which, they recently notified me, was going away and being absorbed by their regular app. I downloaded the app. When I went to delete the card guard app, it informed me all data associated with it would be deleted. I thought this was great and deleted it. Then, my Visa card was declined. Spoke first with Phil, who informed me I should have locked or deleted my credit card off the old app before I deleted it! I think Unitus could have shared that little bit of wisdom with their customers because it was then impossible to do anything about it. We could not download the old app again. It was gone forever. Phil transferred me to "customer service" where I became extremely frustrated with the person because she did not comprehend what my problem was. I gave up, hung up and called back the original number. Reached Marla. We played around with locking and then unlocking my credit card but when my card was declined again, she advised the only thing to do was to reissue my cards. The fastest way to do this was to visit my branch ASAP. Next morning, went into the Happy Valley branch of Unitus and met a lovely gal by the name of Evinne. I hope I spelled that correctly. She issued my new cards and because I did not know how to use an ATM, she walked outside with me and showed me how. That was so very kind of her! I have never had any problems with this branch. Everyone has always been helpful and kind every time I've gone in there. I will continue to do business with them as long as I am able. Thank you Unitus!”
