We needed a place halfway home because my 87 year couldn't ride 6 straight hours in the car. She loved the bed in her room. So did we. The included breakfast was great.

The views are really amazing. The rooftop is cool too. Has an exercise area and breakfast buffets are included.

Bad experience at the Independence Hotel. They booked a private event at the same time as our stay. We had reserved a king room. They gave our king room away to the private event without telling us, and put us in the handicapped room. When we tried to get a glass of wine (we are in Oregon wine country after all) we were told the bar was closed for the night due to the private event, and we could not even have a glass of wine to take back to the room. All of this for over $300 per night. Very poor customer service for that price. Would not recommend staying here until they get their act together. Skimpy breakfast, out of many things with 2 hours left to go. A poorly managed and poorly staffed hotel, wouldn't pay $150 for this much less than the $300+ they charged us. Informed front desk of all this--no accommodation offered.

Impressed with this hotel. Very clean, updated, well maintained inside and out. Service was exceptional. My group came home from a late dinner event and wanted to spend some time out in the patio with some wine - staff was very kind, supplying is with wine glasses from the bar (which was already closed) and even turned the patio fire on for us. Check in and out was easy and the river view and walk way were a great addition.

Beautiful surroundings and great staff. It was very convenient that they had a lovely restaurant on site.

Great place to stay. Out of the way, quiet, comfortable, with a great river view for a great rate

Very tucked community. Walking distance to eateries. Amphitheater next to river. Great roof top bar and view.

Stayed here with a friend.
Most the desk clerks are amazing.
The last time I visited I saw someone named Monica. Absolute ***** beyond acceptable. Where I was going several times a week for work, have not visited back since and likely wont be returning, wont be letting anyone on my team return til shes gone. Absolutely rude and acted untouchable. She must be a manager or higher up because she acted like queen *****

A beautiful hotel with very nice spacious rooms right on the Willamette River perfect place to go for a run and jump into cool off after. However, the pace of your run might be adversely affected by the number of times you need to stop and pick the wild blackberries

Amazing service from front desk and they have a great continental breakfast. Rooms are spectacularly decorated and so clean. Love the balcony facing the river and park.

This is a wonderful hotel, if you’re visiting WOU, or just in the area. The river is serene, the roof top deck is amazing! It’s in the heart of of the town, within walking distance of great coffee, drinks, and food. The river has a station that loans life vests and inner tubes. Great beach too. All steps from the hotel. Will definitely come back!

Only reason I gave it a four star is because it's such a beautiful place and atmosphere but the free breakfast doesn't correspond with the feel of the hotel. Breakfast was as if I was staying at 2 star hotel. Expected more from this beautiful place.
