Wallowa Lake Lodge is a lovely, rustic, and cozy 100-year-old lakeside lodge. The location is perfect and amazing, right at the headwaters leading to the lake. The rooms are very rustic, a step back in time, and can be small. They could use some TLC, with beds that are not the most comfortable and no air conditioning or televisions. The fireplace in the lobby is fabulous. The dining room menu is very nice, with generous portions like the wild game dinner. Nearby activities are wonderful and many, including the tram to the mountain top, horseback riding, hiking, and boat rentals. The maintenance and bar staff are friendly and helpful, though front desk service can be inconsistent. Highlights include exploring the wetlands, waterfront, and soaking up nature.
