A female name Randy who works at paws is by far the worst person I’ve ever felt with … I brought in a stray that I found dumped I took her to the vet … spent the money to make sure she was healthy and had her spayed … brought her into paws because I cannot keep her hoping they would help find her a home .. but this lady came out pissed off either an attitude about how wrong it was for me to walk in with a kitty instead of calling first.. her whole demeanor about it was insane it literally brought me to tears…. They say they are caring .. … thank go for the younger skinny girl at the front nicest person ever she made arrangements for me to leave the kitty with her .. thank you agin for her I’m not sure her name because I was in tears when I left

Friendly staff, very informative, and very caring about the adopted, and adoptee.
We came in to look at kittens, we left fostering 3 that a nice woman found in a church parking lot. PAWs provided the kittens necessary medical requirements, and helped us made sure these little babies would remain healthy.
It's been almost two months now and we have 3 foster fails, aka those little kittens are in their forever home with us.
PAWS staff is very talkative and work hard to make sure people and animals get matched up properly. They are a valuable asset to our community and a great example of how more shelters should be run.
They care about the animals and the people who try to help them, thanks!

I have fostered dogs in the past from PAWS and they found homes for them.. The last dog I fostered, over 5+ years ago, I ended up adopting. I took a walk through last week and the area inside shelter clean. Because of the heat,, they keep the dogs inside. The staff they have today, are very friendly and caring.

PAWS has been very good to us. I write this in hopes of spreading awareness to fellow first time adoptees. When you adopt a dog or cat that is not yet spayed or neutered there is a holding fee you place, and when that pet is old enough you receive that amount back when you send them to the monthly spay/neuter clinic in the monthly transit to Benton City, WA; DO NOT DO THIS. Don't get me wrong, the spay/neuter clinic is a blessing for strays and population control and I am grateful such an organization exists.
Our situation is rare and unfortunately, under circumstances we are still having a traumatic time grasping, our beautiful, healthy young kitten did not make it past anesthesia when he underwent just a basic operation to be neutered. We did not realize we were sending our furbabe to a location where multiple (4+) cats would be operated on at one time. This is normal business for clinics. This is certainly not PAWS' fault whatsoever. PAWS and the Prevent Homeless Pets clinic in Benton City, WA were very kind regarding the circumstances. I really just wish another option would have been laid out bluntly when we initially adopted from PAWS to begin with, that if I, the pet owner/adoptee takes said animal to a veterinary clinic of my own choosing to spay/neuter and I have proof of said operation, credit can be returned for said holding fee.. We would have gladly paid triple or even quadruple in price to have taken our kitten to a private one-on-one veterinarian where closer attention and care could have been made.. Looking into prices it really isn't much more expensive than the clinic price and it breaks my heart we were unaware at the time.
Honestly, my pets are my family (often even more-so my family than my actual blood related family!) and I cannot fathom sending an actual human family member to have an operation, and imagining 4+ other humans being operated on all at the same time.. it just breaks my heart how we lost our furbabe.
I know our situation is rare, but it could happen to anyone..

Absolutely horrible service. The worker showed us cats for half an hour stating these were available. and then told us they were not up for adoption after we chose a cat!! The only one that knew anything, about anything was the other older lady and she wasn’t friendly or open to people being there at all! I also witnessed people behind the fence yelling aggressively at one of the dogs while driving away! Absolutely awful experience. DO NOT GO TO PAWS IN PENDLETON!!!!

They do a lot to keep the place running on a zero budget. Somehow need to secure more funding for the joint. In desperate need of an update.

I heard from a friend of a friend that the people here refused to sell to a black man because he was black. Also heard that they put animals down despite being a no-kill shelter.
