“I opened an account at CWCU almost a decade ago, and they've been with me through a LOT of life changes. I was able to get my very first car loan with them, and they made the process shockingly straightforward for me.
Every interaction I have had with the tellers and other customer service folks has been a positive one, but even with all of that, my experience working with Malakai today was one of the best I have ever had with anyone. I am currently experiencing some increasingly debilitating medical issues, and my car payment this month was weighing on me to the point where I was potentially choosing between continuing my medical treatment or paying my car bill.
Malakai didn't know anywhere near the extent of this, but was still able to help walk me through submitting the form to move this month's car payment to next month, and helped me know the exact steps and timeline I would be able to use to get things worked out. Malakai was overwhelmingly professional while still remaining compassionate for me as a human being, and it was one of the most refreshing experiences I have had while having to ask for help as my health has gotten increasingly difficult to manage.
It might be odd to say that an interaction I had with a chat based customer service representative from a credit union I chose on a whim years ago would help buoy me toward feeling like this journey is still worth fighting for, but the fact that there was no obligation (legally, morally, financially) to help me navigate this and yet I was still presented with guidance and care anyway is something that has touched me deeply. When so much of the world feels impersonal and clinical, having that small reminder that there are places where treating others as community members rather than numbers on a screen is legitimately life affirming for me. If you can give Malakai some sort of exorbitant raise, I would personally appreciate it greatly. We need more folks in the world who are able to calmly reinforce the idea that even every day transactions can be handled with care.”
“I would love to give this place five stars just because of the cashier but they raised everything to $1.25 and I had no clue I only had $10 and it came to 11 and the cashier was so nice that he paid my extra dollar that was amazing. But how did I not know that everything is no longer $1 per item they are $1.25 now. Not really the Dollar tree anymore now is it it's the one and a quarter Dollar tree LOL”
