I had picked my dog up yesterday oct 20th she had ran away and got picked up only stayed one night there because I had no idea where she was well right when I seen her I knew something was wrong she was soaking wet all over her body an she was shaking I had asked the employee there (what happened to my dog why is she all wet) the employees said to me she was drooling the whole time. my dog doesn’t drool she’s never just drooled like that all over her body NEVER. I knew something was wrong I feel they are abusing these dogs even if they are there for a short time I feel they are not treating them right. My dog is home now safe with me but hasn’t wagged her tail not gotten excited witch my dog has a lot of energy and gets very excited to see me every time I come home. so I just know something wasn’t right while she was in there. Please watch out keep your pets safe from them they may act nice but we never knows what happens behind those doors but them.

JCAS is a wonderful organization with a staff who are knowledgeable, patient, kind and helpful. Our loved cat has gone missing and I phoned JCAS for support. Their staff member, Alex, was Johnny on the Spot and knew exactly how to help me. Thank you!

Adopted a dog. Everyone was friendly, kind and focused on making the process easy. Very thorough explaining the best ways to introduce her to our other animals.

Ever since the new commissioner took over, the shelter has become an animal abuse center. It's not a joke. They leave the dogs without walks from Friday to Tuesday, meaning every single dog is expected to defecate in their cage for half the week. Any volunteers who even question any decisions are "terminated." Whoever is running this place may be in violation of federal animal abuse law and should be in jail.

These people are not right. They will keep your dog if you don't come up with all the fees that they want. They are scammers. I still don't know where my small dog is. He was on the list and found website of there's. And after three days of being there, the charges were up to $480. I was planning on getting him back on the first of March, wether I have to pay $1000 in fees. Whatever it takes I want my dog back. but I no longer see a picture of him on their website. And still have not got a direct answer of what they did with him. Im in the middle of filing civil rights matter with the courts so hopefully I get my dog back.

My dog got out of my house around 2 weeks ago, we called every shelter and vet around trying to find out if anyone had picked her up, I got confirmation that a officer picked her up and took her to this shelter that night, i called the shelter the next morning and was told they had no dog that matched her description, she is a very unique identifiable dog. I then told them I was going to come down anyways being I was told she was taken there at 8:30PM upon arrival I showed many pictures they continued to tell me they did not have her, after 45 minutes of being there I had to FORCE them to go back and check for her, 1 minute later they walked out WITH my dog, it was a horrible experience and I was moments away from walking out without my dog, very uncomfortable and shady situation, glad I was persistent enough for them to do their jobs.

They are failing to do the job as required for a tax payer funded shelter. 0 stars

I went in to volunteer my services and people there were kindly directing me where to go. I did not see the dogs or kitties but I did see other volunteer workers walking the pups. There is a playground for the dogs to run and fetch balls. I signed up and hopefully soon the shelter should email me for an orientation.

The staff and volunteers are dedicated to the animals in their care, hard working and helpful despite being under staffed and overloaded with animals. Adopt or foster an animal from Jackson County Animal Services don't buy from craigslist or Facebook marketplace.

While they are great for adoption, caring for animals, and providing services. They lack communication between the employees, I spent over two months communicating with various employees about when they had availability to take in a little of kittens, when the day finally came, and I called to confirm the time, I was completely blown off and told there was nothing scheduled, nobody was to bring in animals, and they had no idea what I was talking about.
