worst AVIS offer I have ever been to. cars were dirty, front desk agent said my tank was full when it was empty, nothing courteous about this location and its also dirty and gross. It took me a minute when inspecting my vehicle to realize the piss smell was coming from someone who had just pissed on the concrete pillar next to my car in the parking garage, not in it --- and anyone who works in this office would have to walk by where this happened and nobody even seemed to care about cleaning it up. I would absolutely not recommend this place if you are traveling via the airport - the savings of the price difference is not worth it.

NOT friendly. Takes forever! Young, incompetent employees!Hire some with personality, that actually LIKE the job !Lazy and incompetent. Sent me to floor 10 only to find my vehicle was right outside the rental office door !

I made reservation in June. I gave Avis representative my voucher, fully payed for in advance. It took 50 min, because as he claimed "international reservations are always problematic". That's funny considering the year and technology we live in...Then he issued the papers which I had to sign and had an amount due of extra 65$~. Avis tried that at SeaTac airport as well. Refused to sign, as I payed for it all! Then he took the paperwork back and managed to reach a zero balance... Finally I got to the car.The car was unwashed and real dirty on the outside with multiple scratches and bumps in the car body. But that's notall - when I'm in the highway I can hear the road pretty bad and it seems like the door is unsealed. HAD TO STOP in the middle of an highway!!! It seems that the driver's door was damaged either in an accident or someone was trying to break in, hence wind is coming real bad through especially while on an highway.I can't wait to see what they'll try to charge me with when returning it backFollowing my previous email, and the horrible service I received in downtown Portland, now I have been charged with an additional fee 67.38$, even though they tried to make me sign this fee and I argued with them, provided proof of full payment in advanced !!!This is outrageous, this is Avis violating the law.The Portland downtown rep. specifically told me, after I showed him proof of full advanced payment, that his manager will fix it, and gave me a paper to sign with amount due = 0.00Still, I see they charged me with the amount initially requestedNow, I'm being told I returned the car late. Again, a total lie. I was given the car late at 9:30 while reserved for 9:00I returned the car at 8:40, but the same rep. wrote that I returned it at 9:50.This branch is a disgrace. They are simply dishonest people who try their luck in taking extra fees without you noticing.I'm going to pursue this and make you sorry for renting me a car.Nothing like bad publicity on social media.

I have frequently had an issue with AVIS from only accepting credit cards (which is d*** because people can just cancel their credit card or may not have the funds available) instead of a larger deposit on a debit card to charging me the wrong rate. I dropped the car off at 9:01 and they checked me in at 9:43 so they could charge me the hourly rate at double the price and hoped I wouldn’t notice. I hate to leave a negative review and I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but every time I rent with AVIS, I have a bad experience. Edit: I reached out and they refunded the charges, but it's unfortunate that I had to point that out to them. At least they were prompt so I updated them from a 1 Star to a 3 Star.

We rented a Ford Escape SUV that was fantastic to drive. The service was exceptional quick and efficient. Abukar helped us upgrade to the perfect vehicle for our trip. Definitely going to rent from them again! Easy pick up and drop off in downtown Portland

Starting our West-Coast-Trip down to LA began with a pretty rough start thanks to Avis and their employee. The service employee made us wait 20+ minutes in a queue while serving other customers impressively slow despite the fact that we have been perfectly in time.And if he would have been willing to do a better job, there wouldnt have been any chance to do it because there were too many customers for just 1 worker.So 1. Avis hire an appropriate amount of Employees for your stores and 2. Hire someone who is willing to do at least an "ok-service".Never Again,Best Wishes!

I've had amazing experiences at the airport Budget rental spaces, however this location is horrible. The customer service was rude, unfriendly, and unhelpful. We asked for a Kia Rio, but got a Chevy Spark. We asked for a smaller car, but the Chevy Spark is not even close to the Rio and we had to sit with suitcases on our laps for four hours. We asked for a comparable car and they said they couldn't help us; basically a "too bad, so sad" moment. Additionally, as we drove the car it said it needs an oil change which added to our stress about driving this car. Take the time to go to the airport and rent because this location is disappointing.

The agent was very courteous and quick to accommodate for my earlier arrival to pick up the vehicle. I was very satisfied with the sedan that was provided, as it was a very smooth ride and had many useful driving safety features and convenient dashboard controls, making made my long drive easier and more pleasant. It makes a huge difference when I can sync my phone with the dashboard screen for navigation and music controls. Having two USB chargers was also a nice bonus. My only complaint is the rental center’s somewhat awkward location between two one way roads and the parking garage being a bit smelly. Otherwise, I was very satisfied with my rental overall and I’ll definitely consider renting at Avis again in the future.

Went here with a reservation made a day before. When I got here the gentle man up front (Arabic man) made me wait in the lobby for 25 minutes while he ate his lunch at the counter and was talking in his cell phone. He told me he is on lunch and I can wait. I told him please I really need to get on the road I am an elderly woman and need to start driving before dark so I can get to my hotel at a reasonable time. He had mentioned to me that where he is from women don’t drive or have rights and had told me I shouldn’t be driving anyways and that it is a shame women have rights in the United States. I felt very uncomfortable and decided to leave. I am 68 years old and have never had this happen. It’s really sad this gentleman is the manager. I hope this guy gets help.God bless

I was being over charged for late fee which I returned my car on time and handed over the key to their staff. I called trying to get an explanation and the lady told me to wait until her manager call me back. I've waited the whole afternoon and no one called. I called again and the guy told me to wait which I waited again but no one answered the phone. Please respect people's time and have the attitude to correct your mistake.If you are trying to rent a car near downtown Portland. I advice you to think twice before you go into this location.

Our car was not washed on the outside or inside. It did not have windshield washer fluid. But most importantly the tires were old and one of the tires was punctured. We were stranded in Kellogg, Idaho and had to drive back to Spokane on a spare to get a new rental. The tire center in Idaho said the tires were very old and the condition caused the flat tire. This was a very dangerous situation and could have caused harm to my wife and toddler. Our cars in both Portland and Spokane did not have a car condition tags attached to the keys and we did not have an associate look over the car with us to confirm the cars safety. I do not have confidence in the safety of the Avis rental locations in Portland, OR or Spokane, WA.

We have come by this location to rent a car as an emergency to go to Arizona and this is the most horrible service I have ever had. We’re trying to rent a car because we have a family member in distress and needs help and these people denied us a car. Granted we had the money everything we needed, and then we felt like we were racially profiled by the employee calling us names and called my kid the N-word, which my child is 11 years old service is horrible. People are rude. I would recommend not using this company. They are awful and very disrespectful.

When we arrived at the location the car type we ordered wasn’t available so we were up graded to a truck (free upgrade). However, this truck must have been off road because it had terrible scratches over almost the whole car! It was also a bit dirty inside. Secondly, the customer service left much to be desired. The Representative was very unwelcoming. Lastly, we were charged over $100 to change the drop off to airport although the downtown location did not have after hour drop off.
