Only Oregon location I'll sell to. Strongly encourage people to call before they go in & ask what they are and aren't buying. Seasonal is one thing, inventory is another - last time I went they mentioned they specifically needed denim so I'm going back today with a bunch of jeans.

my wife and i are visiting portland from st. louis and we saw this unique thrift shop so we decided to stop here and check it out. we walked inside and their was a ton of clothes and shoes everywhere which you would expect from a store like this. they had a lot of variety for different styles of clothing. i barely even found shoes that were my size. most of it was pretty pricey though considering you can find the same stuff at plato's closet for a 1/3 of the costs. we did find some cool shoes for my brother in law which those were a great price. the staff was friendly and one of the cashiers asked how our day was going, that goes a long way. we probably wouldn't shop here again unless they did like a bogo sale.

Agreed with the previous reviewer. Reselling is a nightmare. I brought 5 Costco bags of clothes. I used to be able to make $200 at least every time I visit when I bring that many clothes/shoes/accessories. This time in line for 30 minutes only for them to take very few items. They didn't take any of my wool coats, sweaters, dresses and jeans. I don't know what the heck they are looking into sell. I got $30 after 30 minutes. This place is a no go!

I'm done with this place. Went to sell there and the buyer took a big pile of my items, gave me the total, had it tagged with the prices, and when she was about to close out with me a manager picked through it and told her to reject most of what she already accepted. It was nice stuff too, when I regularly see things for sale there that are straight up stained and nasty. I understand they can't buy everything, it's a hit or miss situation, but to tell me the prices and then go back on it to a fraction of the amount isn't right. Either train your buyers differently, or in this case let them serve the customer and coach them after the fact.

I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time with selling clothes when it seems luck of the draw with who the buyer is. 2nd Street is around the corner and always delivers with a much friendlier attitude.

I do genuinely like this place, but only as a shopper. They have great pieces if you're looking for good clothes and don't mind higher prices. I give it two stars for 2 reasons: 1. Although the clothes are high quality, they're sold at regular prices. Most clothes you could buy new at the original store for the same price, which is disappointing. 2. Reselling is a nightmare. I stood in line for 30 minutes only for them to take none of the items I brought it, even though they sell a similar range of items I brought in. Overall, I love coming here when I want to buy things. But I dislike how expensive it is even when I try to resell clothes to balance the cost.

When I left here a couple of days ago I thought, "Wow, what an incredible experience!" I went with my daughter and was dreading what I thought would be a daunting and wasteful trip only because I haven't had the best luck looking for clothing and shoes for her at thrift stores. To my delight and surprise, Erzsi made our experience fun and memorable. She was knowledgeable and helpful in every way you would hope a retail employee could be. My daughter felt beautiful and excited as we walked out and had a smile on her face for hours. I would highly recommend going to this location and I will definitely be back!

If you are looking for second hand forever 21 “I like tacos” shirts then this is the place for you! I tried selling with them and some lady came over and hardly looked at my items before calling it quits… usually have luck here but I’m finding it’s becoming more like Plato’s closet :/

I'm not sure why such bad reviews but my personal experiences have always been delightful? Friendly staff but always finding unexpected gems and good deals? Butt keep in mind I'm only shopping when my kids in town so far from frequent?

Used to be the best Buffalo I’ve ever been to but they keep hiring the worst buyers and now the ugliest stuff is for sale not to mention their plus size section used to be one of the best but now it’s next to nothing which is very upsetting especially when myself and other plus size friends bring in lots of cute/new plus size stuff all the time yet they won’t take it? But they will take 3 different galaxy print cat skirts that look like 2010 threw up? (And not in a good way) just very disappointing.

My first time selling clothes to them. Everyone was friendly, they explained the process and after understanding what clothing and fashions they are looking for, I felt they were fair in what they offered.

If i could rate them a zero, I would. These judge-y AF people basically steal. Now, Ive worked in a lot of retail, including buy/sell/trade and consignment situations, so I really do understand what goes into it. While, personally, I believe 25% cash (or 50% if in store credit - which seems fair) is a bit low, i firmly respect a stores ability to name their number and understand that process. However, I recently brought in a larger amount of clothing as a "hail mary" to see if I could make some cash before donating the rest. I had a rather rude interaction while asking if I should bring it all inside, i had a decent yet very uninformed interaction while setting up an account (long time shopper, first timer trader), and then had an almost non-existent, completely dismissive interaction when coming back to pick up unwanted items and cash. I brought in over 10 storage bins of items. I was paid $8 dollars. I brought, what i assumed was all those bins back outside, and assumed they had taken a few (up to ten, maybe?) things, and given the rest back. A bummer? Yes. But they get to decide. It wasnt until later in the evening i looked back. I was down three storage bin/totes. Buffalo exchange had taken 3 large plastic storage bins worth of things, plus the bins themselves, and paid me $8 dollars. Hoping if they didnt speak to me and made me feel in a rush and in the way that i wouldn't notice. And it worked! Everyone is rude. They are basically thieves. And the merchandise on the floor is never good enough for me to justify or tolerate being treated this way. Maybe Ill go back, find the items, do some math, and we'll see what that 25% should have looked like. Not to mention the storage bins. Those were just plain mine. Way to take advantage. Way to be too cool to be operate under any kindness or decency. News flash, youre a hipster in a hipster world (not even the good kind), and your parents still aren't proud of you.

I reviewed their website for selling clothing and I brought in 6 bags of clothing for sale of the 6 bags they only bought 2 pieces I was disappointed based on their website they buy things out of season and Vintage so I brought things that were a little bit older. They had one person running the cash register while other staff look to be available, not sure if I'll be back.

I'm a very loyal customer & have been buying/trading primarily at this Buffalo for 20 years now. I even worked at the downtown location in college as a buyer for a year.I usually make my way out to the Hawthorne location once a month to trade. This is how I get new clothes in my wardrobe primarily. I can't tell you how many customers I have referred; even going through my friends items to help the buyers not have to look through things they would definitely not buy bc of condition. For once I made it twice in a month & was thrown out of both stores just bc Christina put a hold on my account.Last time I saw her she asked me why I had so many dresses, profiling me as a trans person (I am a very obvious trans masculine person). Offended & shocked, I just said the truth at the time -- I used to buy for a tiny vintage boutique in Sellwood. Like I had a small rack that's half of a wall I sometimes add clothes to very part-time.She then told me I can only come in on Thursdays at a specific time window when I'm working. So I came on a Friday again bc that's my day off. I had two (not huge) totes of good, newer items to sell, mostly from my personal wardrobe.Got up to the counter finally & was shamed by Christina saying they couldn't buy from me that day. I explained I actually have left my buying position at the boutique & she still wouldn't help me.When I went to the downtown location after I found she had called them to warn them of me. I pleaded my case, explaining I actually don't buy any longer -- I was still seen the door after one of the managers said they'd "call the regional manager & look into it." Which never happened -- I followed up. They said there was no way to verify I'm not a buyer anymore. So I'm moored to Thursdays when I'm working. I was treated like a criminal so unjustly. This isn't an issue of time as Christina says. If It were, they'd keep track of how many times customers bought instead of this blanket "policy." This is unjust elitism -- straight up discrimination.

was very impressed by their selection!! i went to the buffalo exchange in Las Vegas Nevada (which is full of exciting and unique clothing) and they had the exact same things that the ones in oregon have! it was convenient because i was in need of a shein crop top and some ripped Levi's for $52 so that i stay on trend with my 8th grade sister
