I just moved to Portland from Seattle. I was absolutely shocked by the prices at this Goodwill store. Basic non-designer shirts that I can get for $4 in Seattle were listed for $10, $12, even $15. Everything was so overpriced I ended up leaving with nothing. I have never done that before at a Goodwill. I just couldn't justify spending $20 for a knickknack that I could get for $5 at a different thrift store. What is happening to Goodwill? Is it just this location?

Used clothes priced as brain new clothes sometimes even more. Goodwill is greedy SO GREEDY! GOODWILL IS A JOKE! People have to stop donating to this store!

I bought a few things here and wasn't able to try anything on in the store. No big, I figured I'd buy them and return them if they didn't work. DON'T DO THAT! They only offer store credit on returns and the credit EXPIRES AFTER 60 DAYS! Such a scam!

Bought a dress through their on-line website and immediately noticed upon opening the package that the dress stunk of cigarette smoke and heavy perfume. Even after laundering, the dress wreaked to the point to stinking up our entire home. I requested a refund as this item should have never been offered for an on-line auction. They refused stating a strict policy of no returns for any reason. I reminded them that this item was unusable and obviously not something that would sell in store. They totally ignored my reasoning. Lesson learned. Will never purchase anything from this shoddy operation. No other on-line stores at Shop Goodwill operate in this fashion

Big store, huge selection, no dressing room and no backpack section. Big book and clothing selection. Old electronics and decor. Fun seasonal section.

I have been shopping at this location for years, I live in the neighborhood. You used to be able to find cool stuff for decent prices, but now they must've hired someone in the back to look up 90% of the donations and most of the good stuff goes to Shopgoodwill or Goodwillfinds and the rest is priced above sold comps on Ebay. So they decided they hate resellers, and hate people who need affordable homegoods/clothes. Everyone but the CEO loses.

My “experience” was spoiled today by the sullen and rude cashier, actually #47054. She deliberately tried to refund me $4.99 on a $12.99 even exchange and was even more unpleasant when her supervisor supported me. I was happy with the store until this encounter.

Give it a solid 4 stars. The book section really is great and the employees have always been nice. It's a busy store so they do the best they can. Lots of stuff it's just usually pretty picked over.

This is a very hard, very physically demanding job. Most of all if your a donation attendant. It's constant lifting, constant sorting, unpacking cars and trucks and everything inbetween, and going through and sorting thousands of products every single day.And yet somehow the starting wage is only $15.45.....whi!e the CEO of Portland's goodwill makes $950,000, plus kick backs and rewards. Kinda a lot for a non profit don't you think? This is PORTLAND people, you can find better work than this.

This place is insanely overpriced especially when you look at their muddy used shoes that they’re trying to sell for 1999, 29,99, 49,99. It’s like this isn’t a goodwill it’s a brand new retail shop and priced accordingly. Also if you buy any clothes there, you can’t try them on first and if you don’t like what you buy when you get home when you bring it back, you can only exchange the clothes for more clothes that you’re still not allowed to Tryon before you purchase them. Good Will is anything but goodwill it is greedy. There was a boy sitting outside the store with no shoes no SUCKS no coat and I couldn’t go in and buy him those things for a price any less than what I would’ve had to pay for something brand new. People need to stop donating their things to such a horribly greediy corporation that pretends to help and care about others.

There is a great selection there, but you can’t try anything on. I was told that I have to buy items, then try them on at home. Absolutely ridiculous! I will not be back as long as this policy is in place and will discourage others from wasting their time as well. ZERO stars, if that was an option.

I had to ask the 4 working able minded employees to call a manager to make 1.44 adjustment on a rug. HOMLESS, in a shelter and only having 4.52 for a 6.00 rug and RITA MANAGER . SAID NO. I REMINDED HER THAT THEY GET Everything FOR FREE . ALSO Reminded THAT THE NAME OF THIER EMPLOYER IS GOODWILL. DONT GO TO ANY Swindle

This place is wild. The stuff for sale is just as expensive as new. You can't try on the clothes but you also can't return them and get your money back if they don't fit. I would strongly suggest a Kohl's or Ross if you're looking for affordable clothing.
