West Elm is a furniture and home decor retailer that caters to an upscale urban lifestyle. The store's offerings reflect this, with a focus on smaller furniture and decorative items. Despite the perception of being an expensive brand, the quality of West Elm's products is exceptional, making it a popular choice for those in the market for mid-century or other high-quality home furnishings. The customer service experience at West Elm can be a mixed bag. While some shoppers have had exceptional experiences, with staff going above and beyond to assist them, others have found the employees to be curt and unwilling to help unless directly asked. The design services offered by the store are praised, with customers appreciating the free and helpful feedback provided by the staff. Delivery and shipping times can also be a source of frustration for some customers. While the initial estimates may be accurate, delays and changes in the delivery schedule are not always communicated effectively, leading to disappointment. Overall, West Elm offers a high-quality selection of furniture and home decor, but the customer service and delivery experience can be hit or miss.
Two amazing ladies working at this store got me what I needed, and wrapped the contents for the airplane ride home... even gave me dinner recommendations.

I have bought quite a few pieces of furniture in recent years from the Portland store. I did not find what I was looking for on this visit. For a furniture store it is smaller than most due to the pricey downtown location. Do they have an outlet store?

Christine is the best and Kelene is pretty great too even when she doesn't show up for church! That store would not even be in the Pearl District if it weren't for them though - they do the best work and keep the store functioning.
