“We stopped in to What's New furniture for the first time last week and were so impressed by the selection of furniture and the prices and the friendly people working there! We had been looking for a few new pieces of furniture and they had exactly what we were looking for. We ended up getting a beautiful teak dining table, midcentury walnut dining chairs, and a beautiful grey blue sofa. The employees were absolutely wonderful, kind, and helpful and we were able to take advantage of the Memorial Day sale (thank you!!!!)! Our furniture was delivered so quickly and efficiently. “Super happy with my experience! Came for the first time and was walking through how to use the system. No tare and free jars! Love it. Super simple and affordable. I got shampoo and conditioner and after my first use today it was pretty comparable to my Pantene shampoo. I would dare say it feels cleaner and fresher than the old one. Loved that they also provide labels so you remember what you about and the ingredients. Variety of laundry soaps, cleaners, lotions, even aloe vera! Definitely will be coming back!”

“Interesting - We weren’t looking for a plant store but stumbled in and were greeted by a very friendly employee who was very knowledgeable about house plants. Being from Florida, we couldn't buy plants to take back home on the plane. But we did purchase some plant-insect control stakes.”

“We highly recommend Maxton Gould at Ethan Allen! We came to him needing new furniture and hoping for a fresh look in our living room, but we were uncertain of what that was. He listened carefully, looked at the photos of our living room on our phone, and clarified which pieces we wanted to keep. He considered our taste, lifestyle and budget, and thoughtfully narrowed down the selections to a manageable number of choices. He led with ideas and created space for us to make changes. He was both efficient and unhurried. We really don’t enjoy this kind of shopping, and yet he made the experience easy and fun. On top of that, he’s a delightful human being. I was getting a small gift for my niece, and even though it was tiny, they wrapped as a gift in a lovely box.”

“Six stars! Dennis is great. He really knows mattresses and more. He is detail oriented, and super nice. We love our Naturepedic bed. I recently asked to upgrade to a firmer foam, within the 100 day trial...was easy! Two minute call and it was sorted out. We love our bed and Coyuchi linen sheets. I highly recommend everyone get linen sheets. Thank you!”
“I am not very good with plants or other living things so I went in there to check it out since I always pass by it and live very close. I had just done some spring cleaning and got rid of unused items so I had space. I wanted to reward myself so I walked into the store. The staff was super friendly and helpful so I ended up buying a bunch of stuff to put on my window sill. She gave lots of helpful hints. Please do check it out.”
“Let me start by saying, Adam and John are amazing people. The shop is incredible. Fantastic quality work and excellent customer service. Also prices are very reasonable compared to other futon shops. Don’t listen to the bad reviews about not being able to put futon a together. It is sad to see you people leaving bad feedback for good business because they are unable to follow instructions and have 0 communication skills. Oh, and they feel somehow entitled too. Go get your rock soft futon from rock solid people. ???”

And they stock way more items, too.
Last time I went in I got a chance to meet the owner and he was lovely, too. Happy to support a local business that carries home and body care products I can stand behind.

“An absolute gem in downtown Portland. A giftshop with work from local artists and small businesses that is also a record label. You can listen to all the local artists before you buy any records and there are a few worth exploring. In addition, the staff gave me some really good advice about activities in and around Portland. I returned several times. Their location at the airport also has local microbrews at decent prices (that the dowtown location did not have).”
