Love seeing the Oregon State Capitol. Unfortunately it was renovated at the time, I could not enter so had to walk around the area. There are many beautiful parks and a WWII memorial nearby. Make sure you don't miss them. Overall, it is beautiful space area

Two officers asked us if we were just hanging out and we said yes. We left and then they left. Seems like Salem cops should have better things to do.

During our visit the capitol building was under construction and access was limited. However, there was a large park to enjoy. Parking was fairly easy below the park. During our visit there was a community basketball event all around the capitol which was great to enjoy.

So far we've visited more than half of US states and their Capitols as well.
Mostly, they look very similar, based on DC Capitol - a huge neoclassic two wings building with front stairs and capitols which support the entrance roof and a big dome in the center.
Oregon's capitol was different and I liked it very much. It's a long, but pretty low white marble edifice, with a Greek style Rotunda in the center instead of the dome. On top of it is a golden statue representing Oregon's first settlers.
However, due to ongoing renovations we couldn't visit it, but took a nice stroll in a park across

Loved the Cherry blossoms when they bloomed,the fountains in front of the Capitol made it fun for the kids to play in,lovely place to look at.

We had the opportunity/honor to visit the Oregon State Capitol in JUN_FY2024 and it was an amazing experience, a great opportunity to learn more about Oregon's history and legacy.
Wasen't possible to do a plant tour since this remarkable building is under reforbishment.
Definitely, it's a place that deserves my respect. It was a privilege.

Fresh catch and great service!! Crab legs were on spot as well as the desert and appetizers. Desert was spot on as well. Will visit again !!

Came here to see the cherry blossoms! It was very beautiful but the rains kinda ruined it ? There was some construction happening in the Capitol building as well. Very well maintained area

Beautiful grounds with the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Had the opportunity to walk under and through the trees with their traditional lanterns at 8:00am with a light drizzle and it was a magical experience. Gorgeous
